In this day and age would you rather be the damsel in distress or the heroine who gets the job requiring only little help? I chose to be the heroine. I don't like the feeling of helplessness.

I don't like the feeling of helplessness, either. I would pretty much always choose to be the heroine. You get all the adventure and excitement, rather thanhanging about the castle with you rhair leaning out the window waiting for a rescue. Where is the fun in that?!

Yeah. Being a damsel makes you miss a lot of the fun things in life because you are always whining. Hey if I was Rapunzel I would have cut my hair (instead of the evil witch doing that) and use that to go down the tower. Thanks for posting:)

Heroine. I think the Damsel is ridiculous. As a child such books always annoyed me....why is she just sitting there waiting! lol. It teaches children to wait to for someone else to help them and I think it is unhelpful. I had the belief I could not help myself as a child from many ideals like this and if I was taught I could I may have had a better childhood.

Good point. Yeah these fairy tales makes kids wait for their "prince charmings" which in reality seldom comes. Thanks for posting :)
