Zappa was such a open-minded and restless musical visionary (I'm not a major fan but I cannot deny that he was always progressive and never boring) that I guess a case could be made for that...though not by me. I'm not a big rap fan but I'd have to say that its roots travel back more surely to James Brown rather than to Frank Zappa.

My friend is a big Frank Zappa fan and loves rap. I can't see where the connection is. I guess maybe his style. More then anything l think she just likes to irritate the crap out of me. Well everyone has there own ideas and opinions. I just thought it is a odd take on rap music.

As an ex musician myself (piano/keyboards), I have never been a great lover of rap. Having said that I can enjoy a little now and again - some of it's quite good.

My musical training was classical, and from there I got into modern jazz, but then later on I played in several soul bands. Going back the 70s there though. ;-)
