In the area I am from there is a local bakery, Tastykake(c). It is one of the most popular bakers of cupcakes, individual serve pies, and cookies.
They make a cake called the krimpet. A yellow cake that is about 1 inch wide and about 3 inches long. It comes with a butterscotch icing, or filled with jelly.
They just came out with the lemon krimpet, the basic krimpet filled with a lemon jelly. I was told that they were a bit more expensive then the regular flavors of the same item, but they are giving 10% of the purchase price to Alex's Lemonade Stand. I think it is a good thing to make donations to good causes like Alex's Lemonade Stand, but is it a good thing to play on our sympathies to have us buy their goods. Why not do it quietly, annonomously.
I make donations, to my church, to various organizations, usually in the offering plate or one of those buckets or jars or coin boards you often see. My donation is not put there to show others how helpful I am, not there to be flashy and have you think I am such a good person. I just do it because I feel it is right that I help someone in need when I have so much going for me.
What do you think???
