I was taught to take the holy communion, only after confessing. I observed that the present young generation take communion without confession. How to tackle this issue.

You can take the communion as long as your conscience is clear and you know you haven't committed some deadly sins. Communion is a celebration, a remembrance of Jesus Christ, and should be participated in whenever possible. You can ask God for forgiveness directly in silent prayer before partaking in the communion.

I heard some beliefs of that too. And I think even if you have committed deadly sins, as long as you pray God for forgiveness and is ready to be forgiven you are allowed. I do take communion even if I don't confess, because I pray to God for forgiveness even though sometimes I feel guilty of not being able to confess.

It is cool, dont feel guilty for not confessing. God knows that you confessed to him directly without any channels. Thanks and Gods blessings.

Oops... thats one of me. I have not been to confession for ages though I frequently take the holy communion. Does that make me a sinner? Deep inside me I feel that as long as I did not go against The Ten Commandments I be able to take the communion. I know it is not right but I feel uneasy to go for confession. I do ask forgiveness from God through prayers.

I never take holy communion when i am in the state of sin. That would be sacrilege. True, even here in the philipppines, catholics take it even though they are in the state of sin. Why do i know? Well, showbiz people take it even though they have affairs outside marriage. and the funny thing about this though, is that, priests or the lay ministers find it awkward to deny a communicant even though the world knows that the communicant is a sinner. Some are even very obvious, there are those ladies who wear micro mini skirts and strappy blouses in church and they still take communion! It may not be a grave sin though but the church requires that one be in proper decorum and dress when inside the church. Micro mini skirts on ladies speak so much of their character. I am not judging but if you really are a decent person, would you wear something like that inside a worship place and even dare receive christ in communion? That is a sign of obvious disrespect and sacrilege. I am not a perfect person but at least i know my catechism.
