What is the difference between virgin coconut oil and coconut oil. I consume coconut oil made by boiling for hours. It has a very pleasant taste. I also add a teaspoon of coconut oil to my smoothies. It taste great.

virgin coconut oil (VCO) is derived from fresh coconuts without bleach, solvents, nor heating in the process unlike the (hyrdogenated) or plain coconut oil similar to the oil you are using. VCO shows big promise in curing many diseases and improving human's health. Please read the link below to know the many health benefits of VCO: http://www.all-about-virgin-coconut-oil.com/benefits.html

Thank you for your information. I'll try to look for VCO then.

virgin coconut oil is being produced through a specific method of cold process. ordinary coconut oil is produced through hot process. whichever way, both processes have some specific way of coming about their product. the virgin coconut oil is definitely a very clean pure product as goes through a very strict standard for compliance. its processing is constantly being inspected and monitored by appropriate government personnel. this is so because, it is being regarded as a medical and herbal food supplement of multiple uses.

Actually I prefer the plain coconut oil over VCO. Hot pressed coconut oil has better aroma. I am trying to switch to this healthy oil in my daily cooking.

Well...I think one is probably less experienced than the other.
