someonesmom's post gave me an idea...Who likes the food from the county fairs?

Brats, cheese curds and funnel cake......let the fairs begin!

i really love candy apples, well the candy part anyway and then i through the apple out. i find it soggy after you eat the candy. i also like cotton candy. and beaver tails which is the same as elephant ears.

Fair food is always good. My hubby goes fair food crazy when he goes there. I like to get the elephant ears and strawberry short cakes. Most times though I feel overwhelmed with the decision of what to get. It all looks and smells so good.

Oh, yummy! I have been dieting and fair food sounds scrumptious! I love a great ribeye sandwich there. You know, I have to support the 4-H-ers! Then the wonderful "heart attack in a bucket" french fries with lots of salt and vinegar-mmm...I'm drooling now! And top it off with a lemon shakeup. When we leave we head for the funnel cakes. We have to wait til the end of July for our county fair :( But Cedar Point Amusement Park is open, now, and they have the fries and funnel cakes...Guess where I'll be going soon...

Snow cones, Large soft pretzels, funnel cakes with lots of powdered sugar, fair fries with malt vinegar, kettle corn and BBQ! Now, I am hungry for fair food! LOL

Fair food is excellent food !! The best part of summer is the fair food. Corn dogs are one of my favorites and cotton candy!!! There is no cotton candy like the one from the fair. Some times Wal-Mart and places like that serve cotton candy but it usually has flavoring of some kind in it.

About the only "food" I can eat are turkey legs - & they are a PITA to eat. I do like cotton candy!

I DO!!! Yummmmmy. My favorite is the funnel cakes with all the delicious powdered sugar on top, and when they make them really crispy! Mmmm!!! Can't wait to have one!

OOOOO!!!! I like the deep fried candy bars! YUMMY YUM!!! Why did you bring this up? Now I am ready for the fair to come around...sniff sniff. :P

I've never been to a county fair, probably because I live in an urban/metropolitan area or maybe I'm just not active in my county. Are county fairs the type where an amusement park or circus shows up in town and have a celebration or something of that sort? But I have been to cultural festivals/parades~! My favorite of those types of foods is okonomiyaki; it's like a Japanese thin fried pancake filled with various ingredients (different regions of Japan cook it with different ingredients), sometimes such things as meat, cheese, cabbage, and vegetables.
