do you prefer to photograph people or scenary?

I would have to say that I much prefer to take pictures of scenery then I do people. In particular, I love winter shots with snow, blizzards etc... I am not sure why, but I fine them to be quite relaxing. People on the other hand, not so much.:)

It depends on the subject at that moment of time.

Scenary had to wait for timing where by Human can be arrange and taking indoor studio.

i will prefer to take photographs of sceneries over that of animals and people, too. the good photographs that can be taken of people and animals will have to be candid ones. and these are not easy to capture. once captured though, it will surely be an awe-inspiring take.

I love taking pictures of people, my friends, my family. I love to save the moment. I have a ton of pictures of friends and family. I live pictures of scenery also but I like to remember how people were.

I have some many photos of the places in the world that I have travelled to. I have put them all in albums and like to look back on them from time to time. Scenery is the sort of thing I take photos of mainly. I prefer to take a photo of a special looking building without a crowd being in the way. But is busy cities this can be rather difficult so it does not really matter.

It is lovely to take photos of local people if they are dressed in a particular way. I saw a lady carrying a basket of her head when I was in Guatemala. So I took a photo of her. I also saw two women that were weaving in a market place. They were wearing lovely colourful clothes and so I took a photo of them as well. In Kenya I enjoyed taking photos of the Maasai people dressed in red robes. In Turkey I got a wonderful photo of an old man outside a mosque. It fitted the atmosphere of the village perfectly.

I don't enjoy having my photo taken very much. I like to take photos of my family and friends though.

I like scenaries like landscapes, buildings, statues so you can reevisit them at any time. It is likely that you won;t go back to may of those places and you need mementos.
I take photos of people in special ocasions as I have the images of my friends imprinted in my mind:)

I enjoy taking scenaries. THere's something soothing about a well-taken shot. But lately, street photography and taking people in motion holds a certain fascination to me. It seems as if I've captured that moment in time, never to repeat itself.

I love both and it's really hard to pick one. I love scenary pictures and they're more easy to take because the moment seems to last longer. Also, I love to magnify how beautiful a place is by a scene and those are really lovely to watch later on too. But for people, I think I love it even though it's harder to take because it definitely brings more live into the picture and it makes you guess what the person was doing, thinking and dreaming at that time. It triggers off some imagination and I love it.

They are both skills in their own right!

Usually I prefer to photograph scenery. But given the opportunity, I want to move on to capturing more people.

It is a skill to be able to capture the perfect moment when you are taking picture of people. With scenery, you have all the time to focus, place your angle and shoot. For people, even when they are posing for the camera, there is a limit to the patience they have for the poses. Take too long and the smiles are no longer natural. Too fast and you may not get the focus or the angle right!

Like they say, practice makes perfect! Hopefully, I will be able to upgrade from a point-n-shoot to a basic SLR set;)
