I've got fleas...help!! |
| |
| I have two indoor cats and they got fleas. I put a flea collar around their necks and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Then I heard someone saying how bad flea collars are and it is like putting a poisonous necklace on them. I immediately took them off and through them out. Then I try the drops on the back of the neck route. One cat tried to disown me and would get really distressed when it happened. Then I hear that this is dangerous and this stuff can kill your cat. I try the natural remedies, garlic, brewers yeast, lemon bath...I have salted the vacuum bags and the floors as I heard this will dry up the flea eggs and kill the fleas. I comb the cats and flush the fleas but still I keep finding more! I have powdered the cats in the past and they didn't like it but maybe I can find a natural powder. I don't like using chemicals when it can be avoided especially when it comes to my fur babies. What works for you in the flea department? Any suggestions would be great! | | | | | |

| | well, i didn't have any animals but my neighbors did and at one point fleas got in my house and actually started attaking my newborn. i was freaked out. i didn't know what to do either. but my mother in law suggested getting some eucalyptus oil and place drops of that around the house. apparently they don't like the smell and stay away from it. i placed drops by the front door and i even placed some on my babies clothing so they won't go near them. i don't know if it will work for you, but we never had any problems after that. it also smells nice to. along with flea treatments and medications, hopefully it'll work. | | | | | | |

| | We always use the frontline drops on the back of the neck and they work great. Our vet recommends that brand and says they are safe to use. Kelly | | | | | | |

| | I have always used Frontline plus on my cats. It not only kills fleas, but ticks, too. My cats are outdoor/indoor cats that come and go as they please, so I want whatever will work. I will say that Frontline works! We used it on our 10 year old cat and have used it now for eight years on our oldest cat. Our other cats are only one year old. It doesn't seem to phase them. The 8-year old really hates it when I put it on him, but I just use a stern voice and he settles down and tolerates the application. The goes immediately outside and rolls in the dirt! | | | | | | |

| | I used drops on one of my cats once and she got mad, walked to my printer, made sure I was watching and proceeded to urinate on the paper tray! Aren't cats fun! | | | |

| | One of the stray cats that I adopted years ago was flea infested. My cousin suggested a natural treatment. It worked but it took some time as those fleas lay eggs and I had to get rid of those too. I've added a link for you to check out some natural products. I also added a comment to not use eucalyptus as it's toxic to cats. Good luck. http://www.naturespet.com/flea.html | | | | | | |

| | I have used Revolution for my animals. It works very very well. Its a once a month dose. It takes care of fleas, ticks, and Heartworms!! And it wont harm them! Give the cats a good flea bath to get rid of some, them put the revolution on them. Also you need to take care of the house as well or thell be back. Get some of those flea bombs. Take the cats and other animals out of the house and bomb it. This will kill whats inside, and the revolution will get rid of the rest. Hope this helps!!! | | | | | | |
