Gees that must be some book at that price, I couldn't imagine what sort of book would go for that or who would pay that much for a book unless it was signed by someone pretty special...

Maybe it is some antique book? Or that guy is just hoping someone would make a mistake and buy it. :P

Yes, it's an old book.. and thought about just that, what if in my zeal for old books, I made a mistake and bid on it, because once you bid, you're in a contract to pay up if you win.. Gee, I should've checked it out... maybe my paltry few dollars would've taken the day! Not likely I guess.. Surely they'd have a minimum set.. Too bad, and not only that, not only do I not get the $900 book, but I lost the bid on the other book, because I forgot to keep track, and lost it by 50 cents.. Now that stung.. 1925 picture book.. :))

Well, you have no choice. Either suck thumb and pay for it, or forfeit whatever reputation you have won over your transactions.

Was this the same book? For some editions a rare book can cost that much

..wouldn't it be great to have a first edition? It wasn't the same book.. but they were both old.. I'm taking it the second one is older than the first.. the first was a 1925 bible stories book.. the second is the psalms by Augustine.. now when that could have been printed I don't know.. weren't they still using papyrus or scrolls back in his day? It looked like an old book though, can't believe I didn't check it out at least just for the info. I must've been really frightened by that $900. price tag! - And then I lost the bid on the 1925 book! by 50 cents! I wasn't paying attention! It went for $12.50. @#$%^&* oh well.

Well, what always seems to amaze me is the items that you will find on Ebay, and the people selling them. A lot of times you can find the same exact type of items, and see them at various prices. I have bought and sold on Ebay for many yrs. now. It can be exciting for sure. Sorry to hear that you were outbid. Wishing you better luck the next time you Bid on this book.
