Did you tried to repair an electronic gadget and got it completely damaged?

Well my friend i am not too good with the electronic stuff. Can only fix a switch or tigten loose wire in the switch or adjust flouroscent tube so that it ends are tighter and it starts to light up. Though when i was in school i have made electric board where we can couple of plugs in the socket for multi uses. But i am not good at thes stuff so i call the elctrician or mechanic to fix these things up. yeah i'd like to leanr to be able to fix electronic gadgets as it does save time and money and you know how to use it more efficiently.
