I remember sitting with my aluminum tv tray in front of the tv as a kid, munching on whatever mommy made for dinner! LOL I cannot for the life of me remember what was on the tray, I recall different characters they had and such but can't recall the one I had.
If you were sick mom used the tray to give you "lunch in bed" as you stayed home from school.
When my kids were little they had these and I remember buying the magnet letter and number sets so they could play for hours in the car!
Did you have a "tv tray" as a kid? What was on it?

I remember them and believe it or not they do still sell them. We got some for my neice when she was younger. They sell them at Wal-Mart. I can't remember what was on the ones we had as kids but for hers we had one with cats on it and I think one with puppies as well. They aren't that expensive so we thought it was nice to have on hand.

Yep that's where I saw them. Up at the registers down near the floor. They do come in handy now and then. I think they were only a few dollars too for them.

We had ones that had longer legs that could be used while sitting on the couch. I remember they had some funky 70s patterns on them. One was brown with colored dots and the other was yellow with some kind of colored design on it. I loved them and wish we still had them.
My kids have their own trays like the one you pictured. I got them for like $4 each at Wal-mart (in the check out counter). My son's has an underwater theme. My girls have an alphabet circus and bunnies.

OMG.. I will definitely be checking out WalMart for them now! I've never seen them. I've never looked for them either but never happened upon them.
I read your comment about your son's and thought you said he had an UNDERWEAR theme.. LOL... I went "what?!" Sheesh... might be a sign it's time for bed! LOL
But I'm definitely going to look for some now!

Yes I remember the trays. They sell hem at Walmarts, my grandson has one. It was such a treat to have a "tv dinner" on the "tv tray" and watch tv while eating dinner. My favorite tv dinner was the Beans and Franks, they don't sell it anymore.

I remember the ones that had the stands that you could pull up in front of you. My grandmother had a set of them that sat beside one of the chairs in the den. We would often watch television with our trays in front of us. Sometimes we were treated to an actual tv dinner. That was a huge treat for us.

the only tray I remember was the ones TV dinners came in. I think the most common was fried chicken, corn and mashed potatoes and the tiny compartment in the top center filled with apples. I used to pick one each week at the grocery store for Saturday night when my parents went out to dinner. On Friday nights we always went to the Drive-In Movie Theatre. You might peruse EBAy and I'll bet you find one there.

I do remember those, my Grandmother had a pretty set which folded up,they had flowers on them. She had a business so when we went to visit she would make dinner and serve it to us on these tray tables.
Then I also remember those trays without the legs for breakfast in bed. They had various cartoon characters on them. I don't remember what was on those. but I can recall the pink ones with the flowers that my Grandmother had.Thank you this brings back another special memory of my Grandmother.

I remember the trays, but only had them once or twice a week. We would have them on nights when my mother had meetings and my father didn't feel like cooking. My father worked a strange work schedule. In Junior High, my brother and I started doing the cooking, so we had tv dinners rarely.

Yep I remember these as well- I had a strawberry shortcake one and my brother had a matchbox car one- I loved them- My mom would bring it to me when I was sick also in bed- We also had the longer leg tv trays- these were great too- we always had to have one when we were eating in the living room- I remember they were a pain once in a while to open up- but they were great- they have wooden ones now- I had one of the small ones for my daughter when she was younger- it was a carebear one- I since put it in a yard sale- I think I even bought it in a yard sale!
