Casey Mears gets his first victory in Nascar tonight, and one of the fan favorites and son of the King, Kyle Petty ends up 3rd. It's fun when 2 people like this, a young up and coming driver and one of the veterans of the sport come up like this.

Just finished watching it also. I'm happy as long as Jeff Gordon doesn't win. It is nice to see some different people place. Sometimes it seems like it is the same people winning over and over again. My favorite driver was Rusty Wallace, so I'm trying to figure out who I am going to pick now.

I started watching Nascar when Richard Petty was driving, but stopped in the 80s. I got back into it during the mid 90s when I lived in South Carolina. Maybe since I grew up in Pa compared to the south, but I am a Gordon fan.

what do you think about Rusty's son steven? I am still on the fence with him:( I am not sure if I am going to like him or not! I like jeff Gordon that was a lift he got in the race! but I agree I like seeing new faces in the winner circle!

It was a good race! I was happy for them both! I was so glad to see kyle come in 3rd I hope he can keep it up and be in victory lane soon! It was a long race! The longest in history I think wasnt it?

That's what I heard about it being the longest. Of course starting with it being a 600 mile race gives it a head start.

I was upset to hear he is going to step out of his car for 5 races! I can't imagine watching a race without him in it! it is like Mikey these days not being able to race it doesn't seem right!

Wow, and we had to miss it. I would have Loved to have seen this one. I know my husband would have been shocked, but Happy as well. Kyle Petty ending up in 3rd? Wow!! This is cool. Maybe he is trying to prove that there is some Racing left in him afterall.

you better believe it!! I was so proud of Kyle!! He is my all time favorite driver and It is so good to see him in the top again!!
