Americans unite for lobotomies, no joke people, it is time for us all to get lobotomized. I know that right now everyone reading this is thinking that I have gone off my rocker. But this in not a joke people, I am sick and tired of our politicians telling us just to sit around and shut up. Now I can understand this from the Democrates. Most democrates hate me. Most liberals want me to take a high dive off a low bridge. But I can't take this anymore, from my own party. When I became a registered voter, I registered as a member of the American Libertarian Party. I was young and idealistic, but as I got older I became more pragmatic and I became a registered Republican. My ideas were still the same, but I wanted my vote to matter. In my state, there isn't even an offical American Libertarian Party recognized by the state. I was hoping that my party through my actions inside the party, that I would be able to start influencing it. There use to be a time when Republicans had ideas that favored a libertarian platform. Small government, cut spending, tax cuts, protection of personal freedoms; these are ideas that made Republicans like Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and Newt Gingrich so popular among Conservatives. Ronald Reagan even once said, "Conservatism is rooted in libertarianism." But now we have this class of Republicans or if that is what they want to call themselves who "Think" they know what is best for America. The Republicans that are supporting this immigration bill or "amnesty" say that we don't know what is best for America. Senators Lindsey Graham, Trent Lott, and John McCain have all said that all those who oppose this bill:
a) don't know what they are talking about.
b) are naive.
c) don't know what is best for America.
Of course, those three do. They know what is best for America. All of us, ironically, the people who voted them in because without the conservatives not one of these individuals would have seen one day as a senator; we are the stupid ones. So I thought about it, since we don't know what we are talking about, our political leadership knows all, and sees all, and is getting tired of our constant complaints; we should unite and have mass lobotomy. I bet you didn't see that one coming. I bet you were wondering when I was coming back to my original topic. Americans United For Lobotomies!!!!!

When I was a lot younger, I was more of a Democrat and anti-establishment. Then slowly, I tilted more toward the right and finally all the way over (mostly). Now, there is no way I will ever support liberalism, which to me is socialism. And as far as the Republicans go, they are moving off my radar too. I thought that maybe I could slant toward libertarianism, but they have there own set of wacko's. I don't know the best solution to all these problems, but why can we have a congress that presents several reasonable solutions and then have the people go vote for what they want in a special election? And the solutions that the majority chooses then becomes the foundation for change. There is simply nothing in this government or any political party that acts for the people. There are always some hidden agendas and hardly ever any real progress. Anymore, it is every man for him/her self.

This is why I'm hoping that Fred Thompson does decide to run. For the first time in a long time there will be a Repubican candidate who doesn't have to "qualify" his conservatism.
