i'm happy for you and your dad! i can relate to this topic. i just sent my dad some diabetic paraphernalia and i feel so good to have helped him in some ways. just knowing he feels better or is glad about something makes me feel glad too :)

yes, yes, i think that i have grown mature enough to not care so much about my wants and needs anymore but instead take care of my parents' beeds. and yes, you are right, it just feels so good to help them and give them what they want. :)

My father is 83 years old. I am his caregiver. he lives with myself and my wife. He has very bad eye sight and very bad hearing. I've tried to get him to go see the Drs for new glasses and a hearing aid possibly but he is stubborn in his old age. I can't force him so I have to yell a lot. That's okay I'm used to yelling anyhow. Hahahaha!! I just wished he'd get his hearing and eyes taken care of. He is at the point in his life that he doesn't care as he says, "I've lived longer than my dad has". Thats the hard part knowing he doesn't really care about it.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It's nice to hear that the hearing aid help your father hear better. You only realize how important something is when you lost it. That's how your father feel and now that he has it again he feel very happy. He is really happy and it's good to hear about it.

yes, robert, you are right. my father has been accustomed to not hearing much and when he was able to have his hearing aid installed, he was so happy because he told us that he almost forgot what it was like to hear properly and now he can appreciate the sounds and the music more. :)
