I have shared this tip with a myLotter earlier but hope to share this again and help you diet. I've been doing "brisk-walking" for over a month now - 5 to 10 minutes a day. Mind you, this is brisk-walking and not plain walking. My officemates have noticed this change in me, but I'm not totally slim, though. Also, I refrain from drinking soda (carbonated drinks in particular) and eating chips. Eat a lot of fibrous foods and veggies. Drink plenty of water. Avoid sleeping late. These are health tips, not just dieting tips. Good luck.

What about the Y- YMCA-- I thought there was one in Hornell-- But anyways- I have a gym right downtown- I was a member for about a year—then it got to be hard to find time to go- to make myself go- lol Eat healthy- try adding more fresh fruits and veggies into your diet- Cut back on junk foods- Are you eating late at night at work? Maybe try to stick with cereal or yogurt or something healthy just to keep you going- Portion size is huge! Try slimming that down- and exercise- exercise is the key to losing weight- You have to burn more calories than you take in- I would imagine you get a lot by chasing the kids around??

For me it's not so much about dieting as it is a lifestyle change. I don't buy near the junk food I used to. If we don't have junk food to eat, I don't eat it. Easy fix! I already like things like fruit and yogurt anyway, so it was just a matter of buying more of those things to snack on. I make sure meals are balanced. I'll have meat, a vegie or salad and fruit. I tend not to have potatoes or pasta too often. I'm not much of a potato/pasta person anyway. I still have meals like fried chicken occasionally, but I use skinless pieces for example. Really overall, it's been some small changes that have made a big difference. Hope this helps?

Take very small bites and chew them 30 times. Take a bite and put down your fork and take a drink of water. Then take another bite. Eat very slowly. Listen to your body by as soon as you feel full stop eating. Do not eat again until you feel hungry, not your head hungry, your stomach is truthfully hungry. I lost over 60 pounds doing this. I had to listen very closely to my body and prayed a whole lot. I drank at least 8 glasses of water a day. Walk, buy you a pedometer, Wal-Mart has them LOL. and wear it all day long and try to get 10,000 steps a day. Wow! that is hard to get to 10,000 but it is great way to get more exercise. Even wear it to work. I hope these worked, if you have any questions, please feel free to pm me. I still have lots more to lose but those tips really did help.

Hi, At Christmas time I was around 230 pounds (5' 8") Now, 6 months later I weigh 167 pounds. That is a loss of 63 pounds. What I did is simple. Breakfast = raisin bran. Lunch= orange and water Dinner = Lean Cuisine Snack = raisn bran. Add to this I run for an hour a day 5 days a week and do weights 3 times a week. Basically the weight melted off me with this routine. cheers,

Drink lots of water. Exercise however you can by taking walks, doing videos, taking the stairs, cleaning, etc. Also practice portion control by measuring out your food before you eat. It helps to use a smaller plate than usual when you serve yourself. A great site for nutrional info is http://nutritiondata.com which is good if you want to count calories or carbs. good luck!

I recommend getting the walk away the pounds 2in 1 DVD buy leslie Sansone. There is a one mile and two mile walks on the DVD that is easy and very motivating, right in your living room. I bought this DVD in the sporting area at walmart. Oh and the one mile takes about 15 min. Don't eat anything after 7.30 pm I wish you luck!

If you stay away from carbs and eat more protein, like cheese, nuts, cottage cheese, yogurt etc. The protein stays with you longer and doesn't make you feel hungry as quick.

You are right that walking helps you lose weight. Years ago I started a new job and as the buses turned out to be really unreliable I got into the habit of walking to and from work even though it took ages it meant I was never late. I lost loads of weight and toned up and it was the only thing I was doing differently.
