Military history free on Ancestory.com until D-Day, this Wednesday, June 6  email this discussion to a friend?

I just read in our local newspaper that www.ancestory.com will let you look up military records for free until this coming Wednesday, June 6 (D-Day anniversary). Isn't that neat? I went on there and found where some of my great uncles registered for the draft, and I found my Dad's enlistment notice and how he weighed 164 pounds the day he was drafted! LOL. He was drafted August 10 and he and Mother were married August 12! Do you think you will go on the website and use this free information?

I will have to go and check that site out too. My husband served in the United States Army for almost 17 years. That is very neat. I will save the link and visit it later. That is so neat that you found the information on your dad also. I am from the New Albany area but we moved 45 miles from there about 9 years ago. My husband went to the Army and he also got married soon afterwards, but it didn't last. that was back in the days when he had got his ex-wife pregnant and her father came to the Army and told my husband and asked him, "so what are you going to do"? They married and divorced 17 years later and had three kids.

Yeah, I think I will go on there and look up my grandpa and my dad. That is neat.
