Does someone's preferance in life really matter when it comes to joining something or getting a job ? Does it really hurt anyone else ? Would it really bother you if gays and lesbians joined the armed forces ? How do you feel on this and state your reasons .

Sure why not if they want to get join the armed forces then they should . It doesn't hurt nobody else and they need people to do this and these people want to do it so they should be able to do it . It doesn't hurt me and it shoudln't hurt anybody else becasue they are not doing anything to anybody .

They should be allowed to join the forces. I do not see any problem with that as long as they do not do anything to make other military people uncomfortable. They have every right to be in the military as any straight person but if they behave inappropriately they should be removed just like anyone else. Everyone should be treated equally and given the chance to serve in the military if they desire to serve.

The sexuality must not be determinating factor. I think that if they want to be soldiers, they must have all the rights as the straigt people. But here most gays use their sexuality as way to get rid of the military service.

well they shouldnt be discriminated against just because they are gay or a lesbian. that would be like not letting a woman be a construction worker or a man be a nurse.

i dont think that sexuality should not be an issue when people want to get a job or go in the armed forces. gays and lesbians are just the same as we are and should be able to get the same jobs we do

Until we are willing to accept public bathrooms and showers with no stalls between the toilets, there should be a bar to enlistment to homosexuals.

No, we know there are homosexuals already in the military. But there are illegal aliens in the U.S. too, but that doesn't make it right. If you chose to shower with men, that is your choice, but would you have showered with men against your choice?

The point is, there is no difference between putting a man in a women's shower and putting a gay man in a shower with other men. Until that becomes acceptable in general, why should it be acceptable in the miltary?

You know, I have never understood this. As far as I know, they are still humans. There are maybe some jobs that I would not like to see them do. Like one where they could have close contact with children. Simply because, a lot of them are very flamboyant and I for one would not want their behavior to have an affect on my children. But, other than that I just don't see anything wrong with them working anywhere that they choose.

My mother has been in the US Army for just over 20 years now. She's retiring next month actually. There have been gays in the military since long before Clinton's "don't ask, don't tell" policy was established. If a gay person is willing to lay down their life to protect our country, our constitution & our way of life I think we're foolish if we turn them away.
