Do you remember people thinking shopping carts were germ laden?

There was also a special on tv, I think it was 20/20. They talked about shopping carts being big breeders of all kinds of nasty things. Also pens, which I didn't even think of before. It really makes you think twice about wanting to go shopping.

"GAG" doesn't even begin to explain it! Let's not forget about how those carts also sit outside exposed to animal droppings and who knows what else. I am so glad they make these cute little seat covers to put on them to protect the babies at least...now I just have to figure out how to keep my two year old from licking them!

I never stopped to think about it until I saw a commerical for a hand sanitizer on TV. The commerical brought up the same subject. I will never look at a shopping cart the same way again! It is really gross when you stop to think that just about everything that you touch is the same way. It drives me crazy when I see people leaving the bathroom without washing their hands. When available, I use the paper towel that I dried my hands with to open the bathroom door. When that is not available, I try to use the part of the door handle that people don't touch. Talk about gross!:-0

Yuck! But I believe it, and now am convinced now more than ever, that sometimes when abby got sick it was because of the shopping cart. I had to take her. She had sensory issues...so things went into her mouth. including the shopping cart handle...yuck! poor thing. I'm glad they have those wipes now!

I've had people put infants on the conveyor belt at the supermarket checkout! Too bad others put their food on there. I've also seen a woman change her baby on the table in a coffee shop. Should I mention those people who dump used diapers anywhere they like? I thought we were supposed to be civilised.

Yes it's true..our grocery store provides sanitary sterile wipes for you to wipe down the handles and the areas you may be touching...it doesn't handle it all but helps a little!!!! It is truly gross and disgusting!!!

To tell you the truth, I assumed as much. When I gethome from the shop, before I start putting stuff away, I wash my hands. I assume a lot of the packaging itself is probably covered in who knows what, too. Think of how many people handles it between it being sealed and landing in your trolley? NOt everybody is good abouut washing their hands.

Wow that is disgusting! It is bad enough we touch those shopping cart handles, but some people actually let their babies chew on them! How gross is that? If you really think about how many things you touch that are probably really nasty, like bathroom door handles, doorjams, lightswitches, etc., it would make you want to never leave your home again.

some stores here where i live provide sanitized cloths to wipe the handle with!

If you think about it the food is not safe, the packaging is not germ free and the carts and boxes etc are not clean either. Neither is the belt you put them on if you think about it. Also the poor cashier doesn't wash her hands between customers items. You get into your car which is not germ free. Especially if you have pets or children. The car comes in contact with things during driving. Then you carry these things into your house and if you use alot of cleaning products then good for you. Time to do all again when you bring those things into your house.
Sorry to bring this kind of thing to you however when we stop and think about it. The world is not a clean habitat. Thankfully!
