do you use a wrist rest when you use the mouse?
I'm thinking of getting one, and wondering whether a pillow cushion type is better (the kinds that come in cute shapes like dogs or cats) or whether the high tech looking gel types are better.
the latter usually comes attached to a mouse pad. but think those are more expensive. Those gel types also come with shiny-ish fabric covers.
Which do you prefer?

none of the above. I instead of moving the mouse around and hurt the wrist, I got myself a ball mouse. The ones where you move the big ball to position the mouse on the screen.
Once I put the mouse in a comfortable position on the table, my wrist rarely moves. Only the fingers to move the ball. The ergonomic design of the ball mouse positions the various buttons around your hand... thumb, last finger...etc
Beats having some fanciful cushion or pillow on the table to clutter it :p

yah that's a good idea! Haven't really seen many people use this mouse ball. How much does an average one cost? Which brand did you buy?
Actually, my wrist was so in need of help that I went South Asia Computers in Funan to get a 'memory foam' wrist rest yesterday... but never too late to explore alternatives for the future!

I got a logitech one... quite an old mouse really.
Been using it since 2002. I got the older model at that time, so it cost me slightly less than SGD 40.
I think the latest one is a optical one... cost about SGD 50 plus plus for a basic wired one. The wireless one will cost about twice that. I am not very sure. Long time never go Sim Lim liow, so lost touch with the pricing.
I can check the store near my home if you are interested.

I tried the gel version before... but it does not work well. I still like it better cushion-free.
So I just use my mouse as per normal - resting my wrist against the desk.
