Do most of you here much prefer either a 'Wireless' phone or just a 'Regular' phoneline? Either the two choices, why chose it's kind? Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. Thanks everyone!

I currently got one of each at home. I normally use the wireless phone because its way more comfortable. Older wireless had the problem of many interferences and really bad sound. But the ones you can buy now have a perfect sound, so wireless is better for me in general. You gotta be careful with recharging them though, you might run out of batteries!

well the batteries reminder is there because i once was having a conversation on the phone. I had been talking on the phone for about an hour and a half, and suddenly the phone began beeping. 5 minutes later it went off, out of battery, so i know what im talking about LOL.

I actually have both a landline and a cell phone. The landline was installed because it's the only way I can have internet. I live in a very rural area, we don't even have cable. The trees are too high for me to have a working satellite on my house. I'm fortunate my neighors had an unused port they allowed me to tap into for the tv. The cell phone has come in too handy too many times to not have it, between the car breaking down and unavoidable delays on my way to work. It's also free long-distance so I dont' use the house phone for extra calls and pay the fees for them. I will receive calls at the house but I prefer to make the toll ones free on the cell.

Thanks for sharing MJLami, that is right we cannot truly have our internet connection if not without our landline phone that goes with it :-), therefore it's very much important being installed in our house. Plus mobile phones as well are much useful to carry it around and like you said, we can do make toll free calls and that's the advantage of using it. :-)

We don't use landline. We have 3 cells in our house. My older sons live in the house behind us so between our 2 homes we have 5 cellulars. I used to worry about emergency phone calls. 911 from a cell directs to state police. The state police then contact your local police department about your emergency. That could lose precious time. So we just programmed all local emergency numbers into our cells. Also, my husband is an immigrant. He calls his parents and other family members once a week. On a landline, we were paying hundres of dollars a month. We tried various long distance plans. It's just too expensive. On a cell, he just uses a calling card. A $5 calling card will get him an hour of long distance time on the phone. Of course, it costs us minutes, but we have a gazillion of those. And with our carrier our calls to each other are free.

That is good for you! You find it very easy to communicate with your loved ones specially when it comes to phone expenses, it don't cost you that much while using your carrier phones while at the same time it's free when you're making calls. Thanks for sharing.

I love to be with my WLL (Wireless Local Lop ) phone because you can take it out as your mobile phone on the charges of local phone and also you have to have to put wires all your house to make a mess so i prefer a wireless phone over wired one.

a regulaws phonle allows you to take advantage of home delivery service of most fast food chains like mcdonalds and pizza hut this is main difference why a regular phone line is indespensable not to mention how cheap it is to make a call and easily recieve calls coz its a lot cheaper...while a wireless phone will allow you to receive sms and phonecalls anaytime anywhere and most recently always connected to the internet .

I much prefer a cell phone over a landline phone. It is cheaper as well as easier for people to get a hold of me. Plus a cell phone has much more and better features than a regular phone has on it. I love text messaging and being able to talk to people while I am out of the house. The cell phone is much more convenient plus you do not get as many or any telemarketers. Cell phones are great for emergencies as well.

Absolutely right! mobile phones are good truly for emergencies and some other things that needs an urgent calls, I also do prefer this kind of gadget comparing to regular phonelines...but like I said, both are useful enough to use for our communication ways to others. :-)

I have a wireless and a landline. I have both because it is important that parents who send their kids to our school be able to reach my wife who is the girls dean. It is helpful to have a land line where the phone number will not change. Our wirless phone number has changed a couple of times now.

Yes, that's one of the most important things that one of our phone numbers shouldn't be changed supposedly because like you said, other people may want to contact you in an urgent call then it won't be no problem if you keep one permanent number, such an easy way communication :-) Thanks for sharing.

I rarely use the phone. However, my preference is the wireless. Right now, we have two regular phones and one broken wireless phone. The most important issue with a phone is that I can hear on it.

We don't even have a phone line anymore. It has become an unnecessary expense to us since every member of the family has his/her own mobile phone. Do you think mobile phones can ever replace landline? Has landlines outlasted their usefulness?
@add_im (2712)

I don't think landlines nowadays are outlasted of it's usefulness. I do believe that it still useful in any ways, though majority of the people so far has their own mobile phones to carry within themselves anywhere, everywhere but it doesn't mean that it outlasted the usefulness of landline phones itself.

we have both the 'wireless' type phone and the 'regular' one. which is which to use doesn't matter as long as you receive the call and hear the one talking on the line. one advantage of the 'wireless' type is its portability. you can carry it along around your house or some distant meters away from your house. it works almost similar to your cellphone. you can bring it along beside your bed when you sleep and can answer quickly whenever there are calls.

Yes true! it's comfortableness using wireless phones would be a great advantage when it comes to our house phones comparing to the regular landline phone ones. But, all in all...they're both are very useful though no matter their styles and kinds. :-) Thanks for sharing.

I actually have both. In my house I have two wired phones, one for my office and a wireless, that although it works fine and the callers voices sound very clear, I tend to use the wired ones because they feel better in the hand, if that makes sense. :-)
