Finders keepers losers weepers!  

Bravo to an honest guy..You did the right stuff from beginning and not succumb to greed...bad karma will befall a person if he succumbs to greed..ie if he takes someone stuff now illegally, the next time he will lose his stuffs to somebody.....

Tis a special thing you did and all for the better. It was reinforced for you. Cannot guarantee that it will again however I am glad it worked out. I too think we should have a care about what our actions could do to another. This came out very well.

If you believe in miracle, then I think the money was really meant for you. It was because you are honest and truthful. In this days and age, its very rare to see some honesty anymore. People tend to resort to greediness that left no room to be conscientious. I admire your integrity, raydene.

As another poster said, karma played a role here. You were very good to turn it in to the police. I doubt I would have done so. The person who lost the money probably didn't go to the police about it because they may have been subjected to some questioning they weren't willing to answer. I'm not saying the money is dirty money but what was the note about?

Are you a writer? This would actually make a great plot to a story. Mind if I borrow it?

hey Mom - you know I think you did the right thing and as you say , you would never have known if the money had been badly needed if you hadn't handed it in! Getting to keep the money etc was a bonus but I think the real reward is doing the right thing in the first place! Good for you and I truly believe I would have done the same! xxx

Overall I think it's incredible that you got the money. Let's face it a cop could have said they lost it and such in order to get it. Maybe I just don't have the faith you do in them.

I think it's great that you turned it in and was rewarded for it. If it had been me I'd probably have held on to it and sat there for a while to see if the person came back. If not they probably weren't sure where they lost it and figured it was gone for good. To be honest if I'd lost it I'd think that as well especially if I couldn't remember when I saw it last. Then again that might be why I don't put things in my cigarette packs. I've known too many people to lose them.

I love that story. I don't know if I would of picked up that marlboro box, but is a good thing that you did. Turning that money in was a wonderful thing that you did. What a great memory.

I don't believe in finders keepers over a certain amount. for the, the amount is probably $20. I know I've turned in that much. I've found a few $5s and kept them. I don't know how I'd feel about a $10 because I haven't found one of those.

What a great story! I think you absolutely did the right thing. I've never been faced with a similar situation, but I hope I would do what you did. Had you kept the money, you might have been racked with guilt. You ended up with a clear conscious and got to eventually keep the money as well.

Good for you and I'm glad that it worked out so well. I also believe that you did the right thing and that is what I would have done as well. It seems like people go the easy way more often these days instead of doing the right thing.
