Is it important to you to own branded goods?? | | | | I know how important self image is.. mostly everyone believes in having a great self image to make a good impression. But how important is it to dress yourself in the season's latest, deck yourself in branded clothes from top to toe?? I believe as long as you know what is right for your body, how nice it looks on you, the fit of the clothes, you can pull off wearing cheap and affordable clothes while still looking like a million bucks. However, there are people out there splashing out $15000 on a BAG. A BAG.. That just holds your stuff.. you can't feed your kids with it, it doesn't drive you anywhere.. And worse yet, these people are willing to be on waiting lists.. and someone told me that if they are willing, they pay compensation to whoever is ahead of them in that list, to take their place. So in addition to paying thousands and thousands for that particular item, they pay thousands as well to those other people whose place they want to take over. Is it necessary? For those out there who can afford all these luxuries, is it really important?? Because i do know some people who can really really afford whatever their heart desires, but still maintain a normal lifestyle. | | When I buy clothes, what's most important to me is how it looks on me, and if I think I will get a lot of wear out of it. A second thing I look for is a made in USA tag, because I want to support industry in my home country as much as possible. And I figure that clothes made in the same county as where I'm buying them have used less gas to travel to me. | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | yeah.. i agree with you too.. there's no point in buying clothes for a pretty sum and then only be able to wear it once or twice. Good for you for supporting your own industry! That's a great thing to consider as well when you're out to buy things too.. | | | | | | | Shop Till You Drop The stores you love, now 50-90% off. | | Branded goods can definitely boost your ratings in the society~! Hehe. But for someone who can hardly feed herself, of course I would find it utterly unreasonable to buy a bag that costs more than my semester's tuition fees! =P But if I was really really really filthy rich, I might be compelled to buy branded goods.. I mean, why not right? But I think that even if I was filthy rich, it wouldn't really matter if it's branded or not.. Like you said, what matters is how comfortable and nice you look, and still look like a million bucks~! =D | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | IF i was really really really filthy rich, i'll buy over MyLot.. haha.. just kidding.. But i think i'll stick to my affordable clothes and bags for the time being. Yet, if hubby goes and gets me one of them bags... oooo.. i won't push it away.. hahaha.. | | I don't care about brands. a lot of branded clothes aren't very nice anyway. I really like vintage and vintage style clothes, and I really don't care (and I don't even think I know) what's in fashion. I still think I dress really well. some of my favourite clothes were pretty cheap too, just something I liked about them. | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | Hi galena! thanks for your response. I do agree with you that most branded clothes don't look great anyway. If they all looked great, celebrities won't have to worry about making the worst-dressed list. And besides, from what you see on tv, the runway clothes look like they're created for a circus act! And these said designers have names you can barely pronounce anyway. So when ppl want to be "in" for the sake of peer pressure, they better think twice coz they'll end up looking dumb wearing the clothes and sounding dumb saying the designer's name too.. :) | | | | | | | Online Jewelry Shopping Bid on fine jewelry and save up to 95%. | | I have never really been hooked on the big name brands. When I was younger, my family couldn't afford to buy popular name brand clothes, so we made do with the lesser known brands instead. Now, I've discovered that a lot of the name brand stuff are also really low quality. I would rather find something without a name that will hold up to wear and tear. I can't even imagine paying $15,000+ for a bag. My $20 bag from Target holds my stuff just fine, thank you! :) | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | Same here.. we used to get clothes from the JCPenny sale!! haha! And besides, these people who pay $15,000 for a bag won't end up using it anyway because they're afraid that it'll get dirty, get snatched, etc. So it ends up in their closet. What's the point? Target rocks! Thanks for the response! | | | | | | | Shopping Centers Shopping Centers in Your Area yellowpages.com | add comment | | | |

| | I have to buy branded clothes. I am a little large and when I go to a regular store such as Walmart or Zellers, their large sized clothes are designed for someone who has no stomach. When I buy something, if i fits my waist and my hips, it is tight around my stomach. If it fits my stomach, I have to take the waist in, and the length, I could wear a shirt as a mini and not get arrested. But if you do not have a problem, there is no need to buy branded clothes. No one is going to throw you out if you do not wear the Gucci label. | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | hi! thanks for the response.. the best way to go about it is finding clothes that fit you the best, right? and comfortable too. So if you can only find that in branded clothes, then by all means, go for it. :) No one is going to throw you out if you DO wear the Gucci label too.. | | | | | | | Christmas Screensavers Download Free High Resolution Christmas Screensavers Instantly! | | It's not really important for me to own branded items, indeed I almost never owned one. When I buy clothes, shoes or bags, I prefer them to be stylish yet reasonable priced. With all the money spent on branded items, I am sure I could make better use with the amount of money and I would prefer to use that kind of money in other ways, like supporting my parents better and stuff like that. I think it's important to have own image and dress in something which makes you look good. But self-confidence plays an important role too! If you are confident in yourself, you should feel good about how you dress even they're not branded. | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | i agree with you.. you shouldn't just feel confident when wearing branded goods. i have nothing against buying branded goods, as long as its for the right reasons. As suspensful has commented earlier, that branded goods cater for bigger sizes with better fits. thanks for the response!! | | | | | | | Overstock 95% Off Sale Get a 32GB Apple iPad for $43.20. 1 Per Customer. | | i think there nothing wrong with it, if you have the money.. but i think its ridiculous on how people would pay other people to get in front of them. i tihnk it is necessary for those who CAN afford things like that to buy those things. my mom and aunts have those purses all the time, LV, CHANEL, BURBERRY, CHLOE, etc. depends though, if your into fashion and all. all i buy are vintage designer sunglasses. i like sticking out of the crowd. :) | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | hi remnant! i think these ridiculous ppl are not spending their own hard-earned money because i have yet to find anyone who has been earning hard through sweat and tears and ends up spending their money like that (paying others to jump ahead of the list). and what's more.. it's not once in a lifetime waiting list i'm talking about.. they go through this every season. beats me! Yeah.. there's nothing wrong owning anything branded if you can afford them, as you say.. | | hello shemah ,well ,I don't care much about the branded goods when i bought clothes or bags ,mostly I bought goods in a price which is acceptable to me and it must fit me .But in my opinion ,in some place ,you need to be dressed in a proper way ,i mean you need some cloth or bags for some situation .Because in our society ,dressing is the symbol of your status .I am not a person to judge other by appearance ,but there is some .So wearing branded goods in some social place is needed. That is just my opinion ,JUST FOR YOUR REFERENCE! | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | hi julia.. Yeah, i can see your point. In the presence of dignitaries, or VIPs, one might need to be dressed to the nines. As mean queen and remnant has said, if you can afford to, might as well.. but there's no need to squeeze your purse dry if you cant, right? | | | | | | | Crystal Saga -Free MMORPG Award-Winning Exciting Gameplay,No Download, Free 2Play, Start Now! cs.r2games.com | add comment | | | |

| | Self images is indeed very important. But propping up your self image does not necessarily mean splurging on branded items just to give you some "oomph" in society. I believe self image does not only mean the clothes you wear but how you carry yourself. I remember way back in elementary when i had this thing with expensive clothes. But i soon realized that it's not the clothes that make you, it's who you are in totality. And it's not how expensive your clothes are, it's how you work it! I am from the Philippines, and if you also are, i'm sure you know the "ukay-ukay" or bargain shopping. YOu can buy really cool clothes at a very chepa price...even below 50 pesos. Most of my clothes now are from this stalls and my friends always commend me for my stlye and always ask me where i bought my stuff. And i always get that shocked look that it's just from a bargain shop. So, definitely, expensive clothes are not that important to boost your self-image, besides, people would not really know if what you bought is worth thousands of dollars, you won't wear them with the price tag you know (heheh), but it's how you work what you have, may it be less than a few dollars or not. It's all in the attitude! :) | | | | | | | shemah (478)

| | very well said, angel! It's true.. sometimes you just can't distinguish a simple LBD (little black dress) with a prada LBD. Unless of course, yeah, like you said.. u dangle the price tag at the back.. haha. But for those who can afford 'em, well, we can't expect dignitaries, vvips and the royal family to also wear "ukay-ukay" right?? But if they do, good for them!! I agree with you.. you just need to work out what you have, and nothing else will matter.. Cheap can turn heads too.. and not in a bad way! haha! | | | | | | | Walmart - Official Site Choose from Thousands of Products. Free shipping. Always Low Prices. wal-mart.com | add comment | | | |

| | For me, I don't look into branded goods. I always look into the price of the goods if it is worth buying for. I know that branded goods help us boost our personality in public and it gives others first impression more positively but nowadays, we have to look also into their price and their quality. | | | | | | | shemah (478)
