Quick question for you old-timers on myLot  

Well, I've been since February and I still have all my old discussions. So I guess that doesn't make me an old timer, but I'm not new either. I'd like to know if some one has been here longer than a year about their discussions.

As far as I know, all of my discussions are on here. I have pages and pages of discussions that I have started on here. I know it would take me a while to go thru them all. I know I did just bring again some of the older ones to the front of my discussions page hoping to get New responses to some of them again as well.

I know I keep notebooks full of some of the stuff I have written so that I have copies of them. Putting them to a CD is something I have recently considered as well. There are some stuff on here I would hate to loose as well.

I've been here for almost 8 months and I still have all my created discussions. However, I still back up my writings by creating word docs. In the early days when I first started here, you could copy and paste before you reached 500, so I normally created my discussions on word, checked grammar and spelling, and then pasted here. But when mylot took that feature away because too many members were scamming and cheating with plagiarism, it made it that much harder to back up copies on word. I still typed them up on word first and saved a copy. It comes in handy to do this because at times Mylot will have a glitch and your discussion or response won't show up, and this saves you from having to remember what your wrote and start from scratch.

I don't believe we lose our posts when we get to a certain amount.

That is a really good question. I just looked thru and it does seem that my discussions are still there from my start. Hope that helps

gardengrr,I have checked the 'discussions I've started' and my first discussion that I posted still exists. But then I am not an old-timer. What about you, do you still have your first post existing. I must say that you have brought out a very important query and I am also very curious to know how long will all the discussions be kept.
Will there be a time frame or as you have mentioned will they keep it till we are active members. Whatever may be the case, myLot should let us know or warn us in advance so that we can copy and store all our old discussions for posterity and remembrance.

I dont think they do delete discussions
I still have discussions that i started 7 months ago.
I am not real proud of those as they were not my best work here
But they are still there
I even get responses to them from time to time.

I still have alot of my old discussions. I think I have only lost one or two of them at most. i don't think there is a time period that they stay up. I think Mylot only deletes discussions if there are referral links or spam in them. I would like to delete some old ones myself though.

Yes they are all there from the day i started. Takes alot of digging to go back that far though. What i do now is I put "mssnow" in the tag and that way I can put that tag in along with a tag that tells what the discussion is all about. Its much easier to find later that way.

i scanned all the pages in my 'discussions i've started' and i saw my first discussion still intact. i think mylot does not delete any of our discussions here unless of course they were deleted with valid reasons by mylot staff or you have personally requested them to delete some of your discussions which i learned from someone here that it can be done.
