In Malaysia, our national flower is the hibiscus.

In Australia, it's the flowering wattle, known as the Cootamundra Wattle, or Golden Wattle.

In India our national flower is the Lotus...

since i am a pakistani and the national flower is jasmine, i think that it is also a good flower and really liked by people.

Why was it called smapaguita?

Our national flower is sampaguita. And like you I am also a Filipino. And that is true that a small flower sampaguita is a very scented flower.

The national flower of Malaysia is the hibiscus, or bunga raya. The flower is found in abundance throughout the country, and for this very reason, was chosen to be the national flower (in 1960) by Malaysia's first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman.

There are many varieties of the hibiscus, but the five-petaled Hibiscus rosa sinensis was chosen above the others, as the most symbolically relevant. The five petals of the bunga raya symbolise the Rukunegara (the Five Principles of Nationhood), while the colour red represents courage.

in Singapore the national flower is the Vanda Miss Joaquim. which is named after the lady who bred that species of orchid.

we have a beautiful orchid garden in our botanic garden as well, and there are so many new species and colourful types of orchids.

i think one thing about orchids is that they can be bred amongst each other. and they are hardy too... can last very long.
