Normally I wouldn't take suggestions on books from my Mom, but lately I've been wanting to read and haven't had any books to do so. She let me borrow 'My sisters Keeper' by Jodi Picoult and I was like 'wow that was kinda messed up how it ended' but really enjoyed the book.
Currently I'm reading The Tenth Circle. Hoping my thoughts are right this time. I was pretty close on guessing the end of my sisters keeper, but not in the messed up way it happened.
Suggestions on what I should read next by Jodi Picoult?

ha ha. Yeah she's a she. I guess she'd be like Adult Fiction? The basics of 'My Sisters Keeper' is that it's about a family who had two kids a son and a daughter. The daughter has a rare form of Leukemia and through all that stem cell stuff they do these days, they had a third child, a girl...with whom they could help save their older daughters life.
All of her books are about real life things. Like the Tenth Circle is about a teenager who was raped and it kind of follows Dante's Inferno. Nineteen Minutes, which I haven't read yet, is about High School shootings. But she definitely gives you twists and doesn't make it easy for you to side, because you can see all the sides of the story.

I'm almost finished with Nineteen Minutes. It's about a school shooting. While the subject is horrifying, I love how Picoult interweaves the various points of view of her characters and builds upon conflict upon conflict. Her characters are sympathetic, and it's impossible for me to take sides. I think there's something in each of her characters that's relateable. This is the first of her novels I've read, and I will be reading as much of her work as I can.

my mom read that one and said that it was really good. That's what she seems to do with her stories...make you see all sides equally so you can't pick a side. This is how My Sisters Keeper ended. No matter whether you're for or against stem cell research that's the basic jist behind this one...and you just can't stick with one side.

I haven't read her yet, but I have two books on my pile to be read next. One is Tenth Circle. The other is Nineteen Minutes. It sounds intriguing. I'm looking forward to starting her books.

The Tenth circle is really good. I haven't finished yet, but almost. I haven't read Nineteen minutes either. I think that's what my mom is giving me next.
It's kinda tricky because her books are things a lot of people have actually been through...rape, school shootings, someone you know having leukemia..etc.

Ah yes!! More Picoult lovers! I have read a few of her books, but the very first, and best in my opinion, was My Sister's Keeper. I immediately fell in love with Picoult after this book. The whole book raised so many touchy subjects about bodily emancipation and so much more. It also really hit home for me because I have a younger sister. Her and I's relationship is so great, and I would hate to see either one of us sick, or heaven forbit, deathly ill. This book was honestly the only book to ever make me cry and it takes alot for that to happen. I hope to keep continuing reading her books, as they intrigue me, and push the limits of any topic.
I hope you all enjoy them as well!
