No cars!! What will you do?? |
| |
| Say tomorrow there were no more gas powered cars. Gas prices went up so high that no one could afford cars anymore. Anything using gas went out the door. How will you get around?? Electric car?? Bike??.scooter, or just plain walk? I would probably try to buy me a bike and ride it. I think its a great way to get around and it saves the environment/? | | cute pink bike | | | | |

| | It is a very good point and i wouldn't be suprised if it happened in the near future. Maybe people will finally have to stop thinking about how they look and thinking about living within the worlds means. I would be nice to see electrical cars elvolve. I would happily drive one if it got me from A to B. I would actually prefere to walk if it was in my means. I hope in the future i will be able to become more self sufficiant, growing basic foods and finding other ways to generate electricity and other things. | | | | | | |

| | i think i'd do the same thing as yourself.i would buy me a bike and do like that.but if i had to go to the grocery store,i would have a hard time carrying my groceries. i've been without a car before and know how it is without one.i went crazy without it and had to walk everywhere i needed to go.cars are helpful alot and the fact that if we couldn't afford the gas, well than,it would be really hard to go through life without one.but hey, look at our great-grandparents when they were living.they didn't have no cars, and no other way of transportation.they had to do it by their feet and walk wherever they needed to go to.but i've gotta admit to ya,that it would be hard on us all for not having no car to get around in.but i could survive without one if i had to.i've done without a car for many times. thanks for asking. | | Every problem comes with a solution. before also there were no cars then also people managed. Something new will be there in place of gas-run cars. | | | | | | |

| | I think I would break out the WD40 and oil up the old bike I have in the back yard and pump up the tires and give it a go. The real problem is that my wife's arthritus wouldnt let her get around at all. That and the fact that my work is about 25 miles away from home but id you could look at me you would say that I need the exercize anyway. Thats an atvantage you didnt mention about the bike rideing, Exercize. lol. Those of us that spend way to much time in front of the computers probably need more exercize. For close trips, it wouldnt hurt to walk a bit either. I for one am glad that gas prices are finaly coming down. Take care, Terry | | | | | | |

| | Well, I live in South Texas and everything is connected by water so I guess I'd just have to get out and go in my boat. Since the gas motor would be too expensive to operate, I would have to use my electric trolling motors to get around. Since my trucks would be parked anyway, I would add their batteries to my boat and charge them every night! It would be a wieght trade off of motor and batteries! | | | | | | |

| | I really prefer my old trucks but the boat would work for most things! Even if I had to go to Houston 80 miles away! | | | |

| | hhhm actually a boat would work for us too come to think of it....we have the Erie canal, the Oak River and of course both Lake Erie and Lake Ontario so between bikes and boats we'd actually be very fine LOL | | | |

| | I do know what will be the choices around when fuel has depleted. I think most probably is the electrical recharge vehicle using renewable power. I do think bike is a good option, may be it is because the industrial environemnt i live in. People don't go around using bike, the road are hi-way meant for heavy vehicle and the drivers here are crazy. | | | | | | |

| | We'd have to get out our rusty tandem princess and double the pedal power! I would be at front naturally ;0) trusting princess wouldn't put her feet up as I did all the peddling lol! Or I could always get us a rickshaw like in China to get around. Think of the impact no cars would have on the envirnoment too! | | | | | | |

| | That would make things very difficult in our area as the closest big grocery store (other then a corner store ) Pharmacy , or even hospital are all at least half an hour away and this is with a car . I don't know how many of us would survive because we are in a remote area of the county and although pretty we are quite aways from things that one would use or need everyday . I guess my option would be a bike but not sure how we would eat or get any of our children to the hospital if needed because we would never make it if we had to get there fast . | | | | | | |
