Would you work in a typicallly female profession (secretary, nurse, etc)?

I see women moving into professions once the exclusive province of men. So why is there little migration the other way? Most men take their masculinity seriously. So what's a male secretary to do? Can a man work a job that fairly reeks of importence, yet somehow reach the end of the day with his masculinity intact?

Most of my work is paper work. I seldom need to go out to work. So I think this is a kind of typically female work. Here a male secretary is not common at all. Usually the boss prefers to a pretty and young secretary. The work ability seems less important. I think most females are much more careful and less ambitious than males, so they are much more capable to be a good secretary, nurse etc.

Ofcourse most bosses needs a young and beautiful secretary as the frontline in the office. It is an advantage but having a male secretary especially in state affairs is important. Males secretary calls for more important issues when comes to state administration.

I love the idea of a male secretary. I think it would be good for some businesses. There are no more typical gender occupations really. A real man can do anything and keep his masculinity. The man or woman makes the job not the other way around. If only I could meet a real manly man. That would be a grand treat.

Most countries have male State Secretaries. There is no such thing as not man enough for the job. The only job that can ever degrade a man is a job done poorly.

Luckily, in my country, today there are not so many people that will say that there are feminine or masculine occupations. Sure there are still jobs that are mostly done by men, or by women. But this is changing. I think a man that works as a kindergarden uncle, or as a nurse is a great man, and I think it does nothing to make him less masculine.

We should not really define the gender when come to jobs opportunities. If a woman can do it, a man should be able to do it too. Like male nurses when they reach a higher rank in this field they are known as Medical assistant and their work is akin to the Medical officer. We have many of these Medical assistant working in our village clinics if a Doctor is unavailable.

Good observation, there really isnt much migration of men in women's world. I think it has a lot to do with the masculine ego. They wouldn't really look manly if they nurse the sick or type minutes for their boss. This is of course a mere human perception. Another reason I see is that men usually like to work with more complicated things as machineries or programming and they do choose the job they are inclined to. There are more male nurses now, though, than years ago. I think this is due to practical reasons-- because there are more jobs available for nurses-- so they enter that field. In another view, I think more women are moving into male territory professions because there are simply more females than males.

In this era of globalisation, men should be more open to things like this. Plus it depends if the man has the skills to do a woman's job.
