At almost 15 - laziness should only be counted in school-work and household chores.
If a CHILD is expected to have a job at this age, where is his childhood?
At what age, you ask? - it is more of a point-in-life question.
If he does well in school, and wants to work part-time - OR wants things that the parents cannot afford, that is the right point in life.
If he is not living up to potential in school, and would prefer to get a GED and quit high school, Then THAT is the point in life. Since we are responsible for our children until the age of majority, I feel that if they want to rush that age, then they need to help with the expenses.
On the other hand - just because our generation worked early (I know with me - it was out of necessity) - does not mean that it should always be expected of the next generation.

In my area when I was growing up you could not legally get a job until you were 16 unless you were mowing a lawn for a neighbor or taking care of a child. Then, you had to carry a 3.5 GPA to keep that job. Has that changed?

Hi, well why do you worry so much. U r still very young. I would rather ask you to study and build up ur foundation. The building thats ur job can be started best only at about 22-24 yrs of age. Thats after u have completed ur graduation or post graduation. You would be strong enough by then to pull the efforts and run the show.
I wish you all the best and and u can let me know if I could be of any help any any time.

At the age of 14 (even if they are soon to be 15), the so-called *lazy teen* should be encouraged to put their energy into their schooling, not going out to get a job! This is an important time for learning, and setiing up their future!
