Stay up or go back to sleep?

When something wakes you up at say, 4 am, and you are kept awake for an hour, would you just stay up and head off to work like normal, or would you try and squeeze in a little more sleep before getting up?
My baby wakes up to feed at 4 am every single morning and he stays awake until about 5 or 5:30. My toddler gets up around 6, so if I go back to sleep, I only get 30-60 minutes of sleep. For me, this can be worse than just staying up all day, I take up to an hour to get to sleep again!
Would you stay up or sleep those precious few minutes?

I would stay awake, because it is no use of me going back to sleep. That hour or so would not matter and I can always nap in the afternoon. In fact, when my boys were babies, that is what I did. I made up for the short fall when we all laid down together.

Since I'm already awake on that hour and thinking of the many things to accomplish, I have to make a start already. Stayng awake lying in the bed will just make me lazy. Jump up, make some stretching and bending will warm up my blood vessels, veins and muscles and ready to work on the loads. Accomplishing many things early will give you more time to relax and play with the kids.

My 2 year old daughter's with my parents in the province at present and I do miss her. I'm with my husband in an apartment and we're taking the time to pay all of our existing debts, along with paying the utilities, and saving up for our daughter's future. So, even if I do wake up in the wee hours of the morning, I still go back to sleep even if I would definitely be awake after 1 or 2 hours to prepare our breakfast and prepare for work.

If I can't get enough sleep, then no, I would just stay awake. That has happened a lot to me. I work midnight shift, and while everyone is always complaining about their neighbors being noisy during the evening hours, no one even thinks or considers us night time workers. I'll get woken up by lawn mowers, dog barking, slamming doors (I live in an apartment building), loud music. You name it, it can wake me up. Being that I sleep in daytime, getting back to sleeo is difficult too. So if I only have an hour before I need to be up, I'll just stay up. Otherwise, I feel like I haven't slept at all.
