Day to day, do you have to confront your fears?

My skin has become so sensitive, that I had to stop walking everyday because the sun would leave my skin blistered. And, since most sunscreens are ineffective (only 16% have a good rating of providing you with protection) I have a fear of being exposed to too much sunlight. Do you have to confront your fears on a day to day basis?

Yes there are some fears I do have to face almost daily, or at least if I go out at all. I have a form of agoraphobia. I'm afriad of crowds so going out is very difficult for me. It can even effect me while driving. If there are people over at my house it can cause me to have panic attacks. I try to avoid crowds all together when I can. I shop at odd times when crowds are low. I do things on line and not out in public when possible. You name it I do it to avoid them.

...I think I have a little of that.. or maybe I just strongly prefer being at home, or small gatherings or just of folks I know pretty well (but no! that's not it. I like meeting new people and like lots of people, but still like to be home best).. Hate the stores! Hate also flourescent lights.. When I have to go to the store, or stores, I too go when there's few others shopping. Though maybe it's the stores I don't like, and so want to get through quickly which works better without crowds.. Now that I think about it, I like seeing all sorts of different people.. Whether I ever speak to them or not.. But I hate anything artificial. I don't like the lights on too bright at home either.. When I drive I always go for back roads as much as possible.. It all makes perfect sense to me!
- Since avoiding crowds, and stores, and taking back roads, I'm finding I'm a little more outgoing than before, but I still could get by with just five or six social occasions a year.. not counting holidays? and I don't work outside the home, so to lots of folks this would be unbearable.. but not to me!

Sounds a lot like me. I'm all hermit for the most part. I like to get out but dealing with people, crowds and everything just makes it difficult. So I stay at home for the most part. I interact with others on line and try to make some money this way as well. Still working on trying to find really good money making ways but at least right now I'm making something which is more then last year.

That's too bad about your skin.. and you had to give up your walking! I'm very sensitive to the sun too.. can make me break out.. but I'm pretty much a creature of the shade anyway.. Except when riding with my husband on the harley, then it's the sunscreen which seems to work with me.. Speaking of which, sometimes I can be afraid of riding.. or traveling over the surface of the planet at high speeds on or in anything.. but I love to ride, so that passes..
- or worse yet, flying above the planet, wherein if the craft falls, you're in a world of trouble!:)

LOL! I like the half hermit, proud of it! ha ha!
Friday night there was a lot of buzz about the new opening of an entertainment area in our area, rock climbing, surfboarding,Gold's Gym, an arcade, bowling alley, and golf area (whew) oh yes, and a 13 theater. quite a bit of stuff! Well, it opened last week, and I dragged hubby along. There were sooo many people there, I made a big deal of the ticket prices, and got a matinee
instead for the next day. Truth was, there were so many people, I just wanted to crawl into a hole and maybe die or something.
