Why do some people think they are always right?

Those types of people can be very frustrating! It's very hard to work with people who think the only good ideas are their own, and often it keeps you from making any progress. I wish I had some suggestions for you, but I guess really all you can do is try your best!

Well in the case of people telling you your wrong when you know your right, prove it to them! show them the evidence and don't act smug. Honestly people have called me a know-it-all but the truth is that I believe I am right and alot of time will look it up for myself later but of course people could save us both arguement time by pointing out the truth...

A few days ago Dr. Phil devoted an entire show to people with ego problems. The first guests were an engaged couple, both of whom had to be right and had to be the best all the time. Later on it all boiled down to the fact that underneath both were extremely insecure, and needed to bring themselves up and/or put the other down, in order to feel good. It was a real shame!

I do not like people that always think their way is the best way and right way. I think one way to go is to tell them you hate it. maybe they are not aware of how they look to others. An other way is to avoid them, and spend time with more humble people that value your inputs

Thinking always that you just cannot go wrong is utter prudishness . As you said there are quite a lot of people who think and act as if they are the authority on anything . I would emphasize that it is extreme foolishness.

I would just over look him. I never got along with these kind of people myself.

I think that are not confident in themselves.Therfore they think that they have to show off and be good at something like always being right.So,they think people think they are smart and that impresses people.

I also find people like that. I think they are by nature like that. They don't understand that there can be different opinions and one person cannot be right all the time.

Many times people are blind. They don't see others' point of view. They are self centered and fail to recognize that their will surely be better people than them with better ideas.

On important factor for this is lack of proper education. All of us hear about quacks. Little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
