Are you Right handed or the Left handed!? |
While doing routine work which hand you use most? Do you segregate the work to be done with right or left hand? Is there anything interesting related to any hand in your family or culture? In my local culture, people mostly use or like to use right hand for "Important or any beneficial tasks" like related to religious activity, eating, writing or anything. They try to reserve left hand for not so clean tasks like doing toilets etc. What are your experiences and views. Have you seen any interesting thing related to use of a specific hand?

| 1. RayRay2k8 (83) | 1 year ago | I am right handed at everything i do accept typing. My hands seem to be equal when i type. If i use only my left hand for anything i look retarded. It wont do what i want it to do.

kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Hello, RayRay2k8! Do you look just physically retarded when doing with left hand? I look otherwise retarded too when I try to write with my left hand because of the funny moves I do trying to scrabble down words:-) Thanks for sharing:-)

2. pallidyne (842) | 1 year ago | Im ambidextrous. I can use both hands easily. It was kinda funny when I was a kid, particularly in kindergarden as some nutjob had convinced the school district that if you allowed a child to use both hands that they would develop schizophrenia. So due to some conditioning I favor my left hand a little but, just cause for that year I was mostly just using it.
| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Is there any reality in relation between being ambidextrous and schizophrenia? were people at school convinced of the relationship? good for you that you can use both hands freely. Thanks for sharing, pallidyne! good to see you again:-)

3. I_LUV_U (819) | 1 year ago | I'm left handed. I do everything with lefthanded. I can write with right handed as well, but it won't be neat. I guess it can be mastered with practice. I have seen people who perform certain things in left and certain things in right. Too much dependence on a single hand makes the other one useless, but still most of us commit the same mistake. We should use the other hand too, atleast for some activities like brushing, soaping our body while bathing etc. It can come to use in times of accidents. THANK YOU.

kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Hello, I_LUV_U! you are right that too much dependence on one hand can make the other useless. I am glad that you find ways to use the other hand:-) Thanks for sharing:-)

4. us2owls (849) | 1 year ago | I write with my left hand but do everything else with my right hand. My sister is titally left handed. I don't know about now but she even had a special pair of scissors for a left handed person. She even tried knitting backwards. Now that was a big mess.
| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Haha! that would be a mess to knit backward:-) It's nice that you can use your both hands. I wonder if children are naturally left handed or right handed, do you have an idea? Thanks for sharing us2owls!:-)
| |
us2owls (849) | 1 year ago | I don't know about how lefthandedness comes into being. Neither one of our parents were left handed - none of my three children are - I am the only left handed one in my entire family and I don't know about my sisters family because we no longer are in touch after she stole my entire inheritance. Wonder if she used only her left hand to get that job done. (LOL)
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Ah! so you are the gifted one in whole family being the only left handed:-) Haha! It would really be interesting to know what hand your sister used to get her job done. but then people use both hands to do this and many other things!:-)

5. mymytri (1078) | 1 year ago | hi kamran..I use my right hand for most of the important tasks and i learnt this from my parents .They also believe that we will get benefits when we deal with right hand.I dont wanna repeat what i do with left hand becoz this is same from myside LOL!!You know when i enter our home or any new place or even i go out from my home i use to put my right leg out/in first becoz i too believe it brings me good..
| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | It's really interesting to know about all those things you described, mymytri! It seems that you have pretty much worked out way of using your left/right combination. but you will have to ultimately repeat what you do with your left hand!=P Thanks for sharing!:-)

6. LittleMel (4561) | 1 year ago | well in Asia it's common not to use left hands for a lot of things, but in my country this is OK if the person was born like that so not intentionally ruining traditions or anything sacred. Writing wise, we don't pay attention to it. We think it's unique, but that's all about it.
| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Hello, LittleMel!:-) You seem to be right about Asia, It's interesting to know about traditions of different places, isn't it? It's nice that you keep children 'natural' there in your country! Thanks so much for sharing:-)

| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | I am really sorry seksiconnie, if you took offence of anything I said. every culture has it's own rights and wrongs or proper way to do things. It doesn't mean that other's way is not right. It's completely fine if you are left handed and feel comfortable that way. There is nothing wrong with that. I hope it is clear now!? Thanks for sharing:-)

8. polachicago (6105) | 1 year ago | I am right handed, but my brother is left handed. He always wanted to prove to me that left handed are better. Left-handers are twice as likely to pass the test for Mensa, the high IQ society. A full third of all US presidents since 1945 have been left-handed. Your sense of humor is in the right side of the brain (left-hand dominant). It is no accident that so many of the great comics have been left-handed. Left-handers have better 3-dimensional awareness and precision, this explains why there are so many great left-handed tennis players and why there is a lot of left- handed architects...

kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Hello, polachicago!:-) Thank you so much for provind all those benefits of being left handed! so are you convinced now that left are better and more capable han right handed people? Thanks again for sharing:-)
| |
LittleMel (4561) | 1 year ago | I've heard most of these details before. I'm glad we have never despised left-handed people born like that, even though these details are not true, it's plain silly to avoid them for what they were born with.
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Very true LittleMel! I wonder why people will despise just because someone is right or left handed! That which is natural should be accepted as it is. There's a lot of variety in everything and hands shouldn't come in between!:-)

polachicago (6105) | 1 year ago | My brother told me also that left handed can see better under the water... When he was small, was forced in school to use right hand, but now he uses left for almost everything...like my mother...
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | wouldn't it be interesting polachicago! if you go under water with your brother and tell us about your findings!?:-) you may bring some pearls too from deep beneath;-)

polachicago (6105) | 1 year ago | he, he....he could be much better....:)))

kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | I have no doubt about your capabilities, especially when it comes to pearls:-)

polachicago (6105) | 1 year ago | My best friends are diamonds not pearls...:)
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Be careful pola! diamonds are hard and sharp. They can cut through and make bruises to softer things if not dealt with care!;)

10. sweetangel88 (2089) | 1 year ago | I'm right handed. I think my most of relatives are right handed. I use my right hand to write, eat, clean and probably for other things. I use both my right and left hand if I need to.
| |
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | it's nice to know that you can use both your hands, can you use them both for everything or just for lifting things and like doing stuff? Thanks for sharing, sweetangle88!:-) by the way, is it "angle" in your id or does one should take "angel"? if it's "angle", is sweetness related to '88'? If you don't mind..:-)
| |
sweetangel88 (2089) | 1 year ago | I can use my left hand to hold things, I mostly use my right hand for mostly everything, so it's rare that I would my left hand. For my username I spelled "angel" wrong. It was suppose to be "sweetangel88". I wish I can fix it I guess I can't but if I could I would. 88 means the year I was born.
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Ah! I was wondering if you use your left hand independently, thaks for coming back and explaining. Thanks too for explaining about your ID. it's really frustrating that we can't make some changes. You are quite young sweetangel88! Oh did I spell it right? I think so:-)

smacksman (3038) | 1 year ago | Oh. I'm dissapointed now. I thought an 88 degree angle was rather sweet. haha

| glenniah (35) | 1 year ago | Hi Kamran, I am right handed and my husband is left handed. When he was at school the teachers would tie his left hand behind him and try to force him to write with his right. Some even said he 'owed the devil a day's work' because he was left handed weird eh. After 50 years he is still left handed and doing well. I do know of someone who tried to use both hands, he made an awful mess when he tried to eat soup for the first time. I think I read somewhere that people who are left handed live longer. Glenniah
| |
kamran12 (1811) | 1 year ago | Hello glenniah!:-) It was cruel of them to tie his hands but perhaps they were being sincere in doing this. It is amazing rather interesting, what stories are around about the left handers. One of my own sisters is left handed. I believe your hsband would be ding well. I wish you best in life!:-)
