latest episode - did he really slice the guy open?

I watched this on AXN channel on Saturday night. There were two back to back episodes even though the channel listing said that there'd be one episode of Supernatural between them. so anyway, what's going on??
Did he really slice the guy with the ballooning tongue open because he was trying to find out whether the Ketamine had messed up his mind?

You are referring to the show HOUSE rite?
Yes... I watched that episode twice!!
It was really interesting, that in that short time span between House getting shot till the time he got wheeled into the ER, he actually did so much in his mind!
And even in his comatosed state, he could be so logical in his alternate reality.
House was pretty sure that he is hallucinating the whole thing. And in order for him to awake from the hallucinative state he is in, he has to do something drastic. So drastic that it is not possible for his brain to comprehen that that is real. With that shock, that is how one is able to wake from the coma.
So that is exactly what he did! He literally sliced that patient up to prove his point, and he woke from his comatose state to realized he is actually still in the process of being wheeled into the ER for an operation.
Really interesting and confusing episode!

Ohhhh!!!! so that's the reason!
I knew he wanted to shock himself but didn't realise that he was in a shock coma still. So the entire episode happened whilst he was in a coma!!! so he didn't really cut the patient up....
tq tq, now it all makes sense. have been trying to figure it out for days.
but then when he shocked himself awake, he still asked for ketamine becos he realised that it would heal his leg (but maybe not cos it was coma hallucin) or becos he realised it would not give him hallucin after all?

I don't have cable, so I can only catch re-runs on Fox if they decide to show them on Tuesday nights.
Darn! I just can't seem to remember that particular episode. Can you give more details to help me job my memory?

House was shot, given Ketamine (because he asked for it) and it made his leg well, but he kept having hallucinations. including conversations with Patty (?) that didn't happen. the guy who shot him was in the next bed, and mocking him that his questions to his ducklings were getting dumber, and easier to answer.
He also tore his stitches whilst talking to the patient's wife. turns out the patient had no wife.
He was worried that he was losing it, and not knowing which was reality and which was a hallucination. so he stormed into a room where the three were carrying out his instructions, and he grabbed the machine controls and tried to take over. Gory scene ended with him ripping a huge hole in the man's abdomen. There was supposed to be a small cut or some precise surgery by the robot to ease the swelling in his tongue.
