Gerber Recalls Organic Baby Food  

Unbelievable! I'm really beginning to think that I should give up all food that I can't grow myself. It really makes you wonder if these things are actually happening more or if it's just that people are more cautious and report problems more. Either way it's frustrating to wonder what will it be next and worry that "next time" it will be something I've eaten or my children have eaten.

One thing I have to question about this recall though is...Wouldn't the parents see these choking hazard size lumps BEFORE they fed it to their babies? Maybe I'm just thinking about the spoonful size that my 8 month old takes, I know I would definitely be able to notice any large lump on that.

Thanks for sharing this information. Although my daughter is now and toddler and eats adult cereal, this is very good to know.

It is really scary all of the stuff that is being recalled, especailly everything that is associated with children.

It is hard to trust any product anymore that comes out in the supermarkets. It is almost like we have to second guess anytime we want to purchase any food, whether for us or our kids. I was surprised to hear that the Organic stuff is getting recalled. Wonder what the next product will be that will be taken off the shelves. Hopefully nobody will die or get sick if they have already eaten these products.

I was reading about this on my community form. Its scary. You never know whats safe anymore. I am so glad that my grandson's aren't eating baby food anymore. I wonder what will be next to be recalled.

I read about this through another friends discussion and was surprised about it too. I have never used these products because they were not available where I use to live.

I saw this yesterday here on mylot- the other person also mentioned glass specks in baby food by Gerber also- It’s terrible when baby food gets involved- I would think with cereal- if it doesn’t dissolve- I would know enough not to feed it to my child- it was the glass that really bothered me- I can’t believe it is a well-known company like Gerber!

This is becoming quite a concern. We really are placing a lot of trust in the people who distribute our foods.

You just can't depend on anything anymore. You would think ORGANIC would mean safe, almost automatically.

Yikes, comes to show us that you can never trust anyone when it comes to food.
