I too have never tried manicure before. So I don't think you sound wierd or missing out on anything :P
My friends have tried and some are doing it themselves. It seems that one need not really waste money going to parlours. However, I prefer to keep my nails natural. lol.

I don't know if you are missing much, but I quite like the fact that they pamper you and you don't have to do anything but sit there and let them do their thing. I never use to get them done, but when I tried the first time I arrived in the USA a year ago, I have had them done twice. It all depends on if I have enough $$ on hand though.
The last one they put my hands and feet in real hot oil/wax and that made my skin very smooth. Felt totally different to the other one I had.
If you have a special occasion to go to, it would be nice to try, but if not, you can get them done anytime.
Pedicures are the best though - they get rid of all the dry skin underneath your feet and around the heels, feels so nice when they are done.

wow that sounds cool tome but its too lady like, you know I got small nails like a child's and I dont know if it would look nice on me. LOL Maybe I could try in special days or occasions like my wedding, the problem is I dont know when its going to happen.

Oh as much as i know your missing alot girl! Its a good feeling having a manicure its your way of pampering your nails and hands from your daily doings. At least try it just once for you to experience it, it would'nt hurt if you try. But if you have nice nails i guess you won't be needing it after all lucky you!

and so do i!so, i don't think we sound weird. I just want my nails on their natural color, trimmed and clean. That's my way of "decorating" them.

I don't think you are weird because I had never tried it too. I only have my cousin to do my pedicure and manicure ever since and its always home service for me. I tried another manicurist once do me some home service and I had so many cuts that I had never deigned to try another one again especially those that are from the parlor. So if you are weird, I think that would make two of of us. LOL!

On special occasions I do get manicure and pedicure from a professional manicurist, but on oridnary days, I got to ask one of my little sister in the church to do it for me cause she knew basic cleaning.
It feels good to have manicure and pedicure, I really cannot do it on my own though.
And just right now, looking at my nails I know i need one soon. :)

Oh no zelmarq!!! it's nice to have your nails done but i wouldn't say that youhave missed much. I mean it all depends on your preferences, i had a bad experience on pedicure and i wouldn't want you to experience it. Anyway, for others the experience is heavenly but for me? not really.. Maybe they have been with the best manicurist in their place. But it's true that you must pamper yourself once in a while...God bless..

I used to do my own nails but then sometimes I get too busy that I cannot manicure my fingernails the way I used to, that is meticulously. So now I take time to visit the salon for a complete service, manicure and pedicure. And once a month I endulge in having a foot spa. It relaxes me and I get to read magazines while my nails are being done. I am a cheapskate but sometimes it pays to endulge myself:P
