Where is Vienna and why do I want to know what the weather is there?

Well I think the location that the weather box shows is where your Internet Service Provider is based. For instance I live in Scotland but my weather box shows the weather for Sheffield still in the UK but in England and nowhere even close to where I am. Sheffield is where my ISP is though so I think that's what it will be defaulting to.

Intersting theory. I have aol. I think they are located in the US but I'm not sure. Thank you for your response. I did go in and change it to my City. It was easy once someone explained to me, how to do it.

I guess it is in Austria-a country of mixed European nationalities with German being the widely spoken language-i think it falls within the climatic zones of Central Europe!

Isn't Vienna in Austria? The managers are secret about where they are. Would not surprise me if they were from another country. We could be studied for invasion for all I know. I hope that you find the information that you seek.

Oh yes the contact at the bottom of the screen is very handy when you have something urgent to report or something to say to administration. I have used it a few times myself. Very handy indeed.

I've only used it once so far. I wondered how long it would take. I saw different people saying different things. Some said it would take forever. I got a response within 24 hours.

It's good to know somebody here is thorough.
I just found out that the contact us thing was at the bottom yesterday! lol I'm sure I had seen it before but couldn't remember where it was.
I did notice the comment about posting in English in the guidelines, but I hadn't read the legal information. Thanks for that info.

Well I have absolutely no idea why you're asking, but the only Vienna I know is in Austria. It's a beautiful beautiful city - former capital of the Hapsburg Empire - some amazing architectture and buildings and museums - a gorgeous place. I go there almost once a year because I love it so much - just for shopping and sightseeing and chilling out just for a weekend - it's only an hour or so flight from London.

That is exactly what my grand mother said about the place. She went there a while back, but she still talks of it often. If I didn't have a fear of flying, I'd love to visit it.

I've had the weather for Vienna coming up on my page ever since I started with myLot. I was wondering why and I couldn't remember where Vienna is.
Vienna is in Austria. There is also one in Kentucky. I'm not sure which one the weather was showing for.

Well okay you have me lost on why you are asking. Maybe I am just confused. But I don't think Vienna is where the founders of mylot are. I have heard that mylot was started in the United States. Now maybe after the founders started mylot they moved there. That I don't know.

No mine is my home town. But I had to change it to that. I can't remember what it was before I changed it, I think Las Vegas. But I am not sure.

Nope, mylot is an American owned and operated company. Why would you think it was in Vienna? I am a bit confused by that?

Because the weather box when I sign in tells me the weather in Vienna. I thought it was that way for everyone. lol I guess not.

To change the default weather setting for your myLot home page, move your mouse over the top right corner so that "edit" is highlighted. Fill in the blanks, close edit, and you will never see Vienna there again.

How about Vienna, Virginia? I thought when it showed Vienna it was telling me the weather here where I live, in Vienna, VA LOL Okaayyy I won't trust that one anymore!

lol I'm not sure which Vienna the weather box is showing. I guess you'd know better than me. Does the weather your seeing on the screen correlate with what you see outside?

Vienna is in Austria. I'm not sure why it pops up with their weather for you. Mine is for New York...which isn't even in the same time zone I live in.

Couldn't find Vienna? Well, take a map and go to Europe. Then look for a little country north of Italy, east of Switzerland, south of Germany, and west of Hungary. Found? That's Austria. Now go to the east of this country, where it goes a little bit wider and lookfor a blue ribbon, that's the Danube. More to the northeastern corner, there you will see Vienna.
