Am I losing it or what? I try to fix things myself and half the time I can't..

so the good ole hubby comes over and fixes it with no problem. I have been trying to move my monitor downward because I was getting a glare from the ceiling light and I just couldn't do it..he comes over and presto, he gets it moved..He says that I can do it, I just want him to come over so he can be next to me and that I want him to feel needed..Whatever!! At least I was trying to fix it. Does your significant other say this to you? Or do they even want to help you?

Quite an interesting topic, Feona1962!I am an engineer and my partner has studied medicine but she is half an engineer herself, lol! very intelligent, socially active and a great partner. She tries to fix things herself, rather she likes it. In fact before our marriage she had fixed much more things in her parents house than her two brothers (1 elder and other younger). So, I got a doctor com engineer package. She loves to do things for me and if she isn't held back by her some health issues, she would be doing much more than she has already done. I intentionally ask her to fix something even without trying myself and she is all over the job:-) Sometimes when she isn't able to fix, she looks at me in such a beautiful way that I can't help but help her. I tell her that she could do it though, for no other reason than to boost her and sometimes to tease her:-). She does the same with me when she is done with the job. This is just an enjoyable experience for both of us!:-)

I believe that you are loveable too Feona1962, for him to love you and I can guess that he appreciates you by the words you are telling me. And when he says that you can do it, I think he is right as you are young and already try yourself to fix.

I like to fix things but my husband says I don't have enough patience sometimes. I like to be independent. I don't mind if he helps, but I would like him to show me how to do it. Anything that doesn't have to do with electricity or fire, I can handle. He always gives me a big smile, I can't help but love him.

Hubby will often step in when I am attempting to do something and fix it before I can become frustrated with it. It is hard for me to accept this at times because before I met him, I was always the one to fix everything.

haha no as he gets annoyed when I ask him to do things for me. Usually I would ask him how to do it, only to find a minute later I've done it LOL he finds that annoying!

That is really funny. I really do try but sometimes I am thinking, this can't be this hard. I think I have done that a few times as well, ask him and then find out I did it.

Heck there are times when I know I can fix it myself and I call my hubby over to fix it just so he can keep his manly man feeling lol, makes em feel needed you know. But I do have to admit there have been a few times I have tried and tried to do something I call him over and wham like it was nothing, and I just could not figger it out.

He tells me all the time that nobody loves him, and that he is used to the rejection. LOL.. I don't think so. He is standing here saying, "It's true, I see it every day." Good grief. What would they do without us?

Perhaps he is just teasing you? In my opinion, he should be feeling honoured since he has the thinking that you wanted him to be next to you. What if you had asked someone else? :P If my other half were to say such things to me, I definitely would ask if he prefers I asked someone else to come over instead even though I know very help he is just teasing me. lol.

He is teasing me. We go back and forth all the time. If I told him I was going to ask someone else he would tell me to go ahead. I just tell him to Zip it. LOL thank you.
