Ouch that must really hurt he must be allergic to bees I have gotten stung a lot of times by bees and I have never gotten swolen up thank god I hate hornets which I think are the worse there a lot of more vicious then bees are because they will sting you even if you arent doing anything like when I was mowing my lawn wasnt hurting them and got stung by three hornets.

The eye is a very sensitive area to be stung. If the swelling doesn't go down I would go to the doctor. Have you given him any benedryl? Put a cool cloth on it, that should help with the swelling. I think if he was really allergic he would have been showing signs of respiratory distress. Just keep an eye on him and go from there. I hope this helps.

It was right below his eye like right across where his nose is at on the cheek.. I think though if it's not gone by tomorrow I will take him in and let the doctor check him out, But more than likely the swollen will be down by than.. Thanks for your reply!

i would have a doctor look at it to be on the safe side. my daughter has only been stung once but it did not swell up.

This for sure isn't the first bee sting he's had.. When he was about 4 he was stung so I know he would be ok.. I think though I am just worried about his eye being swollen up right now.. My husband thought maybe he was elbowed in the eye but he'd have a bruise if he did.. Thanks for your reply!

Hi,
Since the bee sting was yesterday and there has been no other ill effects than the swelling, I would think your son will be fine now. The venom will wear off very shortly. However, you may still want to take him to the doctor to see if he is somehow allergic because to sell up like that may mean there is something there, and it is better to be safe than sorry.
cheers,

I'm a beekeeper for 30 years and have seen many people get stings. Only a few people are seriously allergic and will die in 10 minutes after the sting. Your son will be fine, (as he was stung yesterday) and the venum will soon wear off. A sting effects everyone differently, depending on where the sting was. It hurts more in the forehead or on an area close to the bone. Usually swells more where there is more flesh, like under the eye. There is no need to worry about him. he will be better by the time you read this.

Thank you so much for your reply.. His eyes is very swollen I did put some ice on it to get it down but of course he don't want to keep the ice on it.. I didn't think he was allergic to bee's than again I don't know if he's even allergic to anything.. It's just weird though how nothing happened yesterday and today his eye is huge.. Your right though he will be ok so I shouldn't have to worry.. Again thank you for your reply..

I know bee stings hurt thats for sure.. I have been stung many many times.. Just a month ago i was out and about and I ended up getting stung on the back of my leg right above my ankle oh boy did that ever smart.. I was busy jumping up and down. But it never did swollen up though.. Normally I do but only in certain spots like on my face if I were to be stung..Thanks for your reply..
