In India its 15th August, the day when India woke up to freedom back in 1947. It was a day of great celebration.

I am from China and our National Day is on October 1st. In general, we will have a 7 days holiday. So I really look forward to it.

Austyralia doesn't exactly have an Independance Day, mainly because we are not Independant. We are part of the British Commonwealth, & our leader is the Queen. We do have Australia Day on January 26. This is to celebrate the landing on Australia's shores by 11 convict ships, that settled here.
