Hero Chihuahua

I just read the story of the chihuahua that jumped in between a little boy and a rattlesnake. She took the bites so the boy wouldn't be hurt. Thankfully, she was treated and now seems to be back to normal after killing the snake.
I've heard about this before, and it always amazes me that the dogs will put themselves in harms way to protect those they love.
I wonder how come more people aren't that way?

It kind of surprised me too. I have heard of big dogs..labs and such doing that. She is the first chihuahua that has made the news anyway. Not everyone that does something heroic makes the evening news.

I read that on www.foxnews.com and then again on www.cnn.com. I kept hoping they would include a picture of the chihuahua! It is such a sweet story. Maybe these little dogs aren't big enough to knock out a robber, but they can do just as much as a big dog, they are just in a smaller package.

Yes they are definately big in spirit. Just ask mine and she'll tell you. She thinks that she is just as big and mean and tough as our boxer. Of course Romeo just looks at her and then looks at me as if to say. "Mom, you've got to be kidding me."

They certainly are loyal. The other night, my husband and I were wrestling over the last package of cheetos. I kind of screamed when he took them away from me, and Baby came tearing across the livingroom barking her head off. She thought he had hurt me and was coming unglued on him.

Animals often make a better connection with people than we do with each other. I am proud of the animal kingdom for putting up with so many of us that do not respect them for the love they give. We are resonsible for them and they often are the heroes. This is a good story and worth showing on the evening news and stories like this as a regular feature. Thanks for sharing it.

You're welcome. I have a website that has heart warming news stories that I love to get on and read. It's on a local news station and is called the Kitchen Sink.
They have some cute and sometimes funny stories on there.

Dogs can be amazing and then not so amazing! LOL!
I wonder also why more people aren't as brave as man's best friend. Maybe that is why the dog was created for man? So that we don't have to put ourselves in harms way like that?
