Psalm 91:2 I will say to the Lord, "You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you."
As some of you know, our oldest daughter Kristen, is working at our veterinarian's office this summer. When she asked what I thought about her working for Dr. Jill I laid down the Mommy Law: "That's fine. BUT, no more animals! Understood?"
We are now fostering our second animal. Tyson is the cutest 5 week old Labrador puppy whose mother was killed long before he was ready to be weaned. We have bottle fed this little guy and tried to keep him nourished and cuddled as his own mother would. Baby, our 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier/Chihuahua mix is doing her part to help.
Yesterday, Tyson, who by the way looks like a baby polar bear with a long tail, sat beside the pet bed and cried. It was so sad, that I almost wanted to cry. Baby had been outside, but as soon as she came back in, heard Tyson's whimpers and came running as fast as she could get to him. She gently pushed him with her nose up into the bed, and then curled herself around him, putting her head across his neck. The puppy immediately quit crying and went to sleep.
Do you ever feel like Tyson? I do. There are days when I'm overwhelmed with the world and the circumstances that surround me. I feel lost and alone. It is then, that I cry out to my Heavenly Father for help and comfort.
All through the ages people from all walks of life; kings, prophets, soldiers, lowely shepherds and even Christ himself while on the Cross; have cried out to God. And you know the best thing?
Just like Baby heard Tyson crying and immediately came to him to comfort him....God hears us when we cry out and answers. He comes to us, wraps his arms around us and gives us peace.

So she is still bringing animals home. Sounds like what I do whenever I see one. I think it's great that she is working at the Vet as I was going to be one. (Takes too long but then again I got married) Baby seems to know what to do when she heard the puppy cry and put him to sleep. I have felt like Tyson and felt comport as I prayed. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. :)

I think we all have felt like that at one time or another. Sometimes, there is nothing that anyone on this earth can do to make me feel better, even though they try. I have to go to my Heavenly Father to take away the pain.

This is a very touching and timely devotional. I have my days of being whiny, and confused, and not knowing just what I need. I am glad that God is faithful and responds and comforts me when I will let him. Sometimes that is all I need is His presence to make me know that all is okay.

It is a wonderful thing to be able to climb up in the lap of our Heavenly Father and have Him hold us. One of my favorite hymns is "Sheltered in the Arms of God" That brings to mind one of the lovliest pictures doesn't it?

This was a wonderful devotional. I think Heavenly Father also sends others to comfort us when we pray for help. He may send a neighbor with food when we are hungry or a friend just to visit when we are lonely. He uses those of us who are willing and listening to the spirit to answer others prayers.

He certainly does! The key to your comment must be "Willing and listening". too many times in my life, I can look back and see where He sent the answer and I wasn't looking in the right direction to find it.

Thank you for reading it. I enjoy hearing the responses to my devotionals. It's uplifting to me, especially if it is one that I struggled with (like this one) to get on paper what I wanted to say without it being 3 pages long. lol
