picketers are hiring homeless people to take their place on the picket line

because they don't want to have to be out in the elements! I can actually believe this, because our credit union tellers were on strike for almost a whole year and outside during every type of weather...if you could hire someone to walk the picket line for you, would you?

No, I wouldn't hire someone to walk the picket line for me. If I was striking in the first place, I would feel it was my responsibility to follow through. Plus, one doesn't generally get paid when one is striking so it would be prohibitive to pay someone else to do it for you. Very strange they are doing that. I guess on the plus side the homeless people will have money to get something to eat.

No, and if I was management and there was a strike, I would video tape the picket lines to prove the workers aren't really on strike, just lazy.

No I don't think I would. Afterall....apart from the political point of striking/demands for better conditions the plus side of striking is you get to meet other like-minded people which after all will be all you are doing during striking. Plus paying out money that you're not getting paid seems lunacy!
