Hey Jillhill. :)
Your response makes me think twice. But I also believe that we can also choose our response towards circumstances. Come to think of it, when you responded differently, to a certain circumstance that you've undergone, from the response that you already had that made you what you have become today, isn't it more likely that you are living a different life today? What do you think?

I truly believe that it is a little bit of both depending on the situation that has happened or is happening.
For instance; you are walking down the street and you happen to glance down an alley way as you pass and see a mugging going on, you quickly grab your cell and dial 911, the police arrive in time to save the victim's life but not to catch the perp who stabbed the victim, and who you helped to stop the blood flow with your scarf.
Destiny set in motion the MAJOR things that day to make you be in that set time and place to help the victim of that mugging and stabbing, but it was NOT Destiny that prompted you to wear the scarf that you grabbed at the last minute that also helped stop the flow of blood thus saving the victims life...it was the chill in the air that did that. So destiny plays a BIG part in anything BIG or important or LIFE CHANGING that happens around us TO us, but not always to us BY us, where LITTLE things are concerned. Does this make sense to you? Hope so, if not let me know and I can try to re-clerify my response better.

Indeed. And so I've been told that it is not the circumstance that matters, but rather our response that really does matters. And in a way, the decision that one makes, the response that we choose to make somehow contributes to shaping our fate.

in my opinion, i believe that it is us that make our own fate. i think whatever we do, whatever the decisions in life we make - everything can either fall into place or fall apart. all is up to us.. :)

To a certain extent, I believe in fate. I take it that what has happened is the act of fate. It is fate that determines the destiny. However, I also believe fate can be changed. If you know that what is going to happen and you dont want it to happen, you make accept fate and let it happen or do something to prevent it from happening. So is this fate? Or is it also fated that you will do something to thwart the original fate?

Well it depends. There are times where the stuff that happens to us is a result of our own decisions or sometimes like the things we never expected to happen, that is a result of Fate.Fate can be both kind and cruel.....It can be nice or it can bite our arses.
In the case of most people like me, Fate is very cruel since most of us have no spiritual knowledge or empowerment.Only through these we can remove karmic ribbons and be the masters fo our own destiny

i do beleive in fate however i also beleive that we do choose our own fate and so even if your fate is put right infront of your face you still have the choice to except it or screw it up! the choice is our own LOL! =)
