When I came to my city 40 years before, when a women, old people, small boys and girls when they board into a bus or getting down from the bus, the conductor invariably tell the driver “LADIES ASTHEY”. It means women are getting down please do not move the bus till they get down”. The driver would never move the bus unless the women got down and also properly boarded into the bus. Now a day, most of the conductors fail to instruct the driver “LADIES ASTHEY”. This courtesy to woman while traveling on the bus is on decline in our city. In our good olden days, young people would immediately vacate the seat to provide seat the old people, ladies carrying children in arm, disabled people etc., Now a day, except a few young people, nobody bother to offer seat to old people, ladies with children and disabled. Sometime I saw a young man refuse to vacate the seat reserved for disabled person. This sort of courtesy is on the decline in our city. Previously, when somebody met with an accident or fell on the ground due to ill health, all the people would come to their help. Somebody would take them to hospital or whatever helps needed to be done, without any hesitation they will extend. Now a day, out of curiosity just they look and keep moving without bothering the fellow-citizen problem. This sort of courtesy is also on the decline in our city. The above courtesy has started declining in the recent years only. I could not understand why the people, in our city, changed their attitude to their fellow-citizen. I can see only one reason that is now a day women are working and maintain equality with men folk. This would have been the cause for change in attitude towards women by the men folk or out of sheer jealously towards women due to their empowerment. Please share your view on this subject.

No matter what place in society women have moved into they are still the femine gender and should be treated with respect and courtesy.
