What did Burton do to be overlooked in history  | |  I wonder what his great Victorian did to be so overlooked in our history.He was an explorer,linquist,author and much more. I seem to remember being told at school that Livingstone discovered most of Africa.This is definitely not the case. He wrote many travel books of his journeys and other books translated from their original langauges. Far to many things to mention here.I believe he upset the authorities with a report he wrote for General Napier but he did have a wicked tongue on him and he loved to shock people. What do you think? Was he the greatest Victorian?

I have heard of Livingston. Was burton the man sent to find livingston? You have peeked my interest. I shall be finding out about him.
