What do you think of live in caretaker jobs?  

I had a friend whose daughter took care of an elderly couple's home while they were in Florida. She called up very upset because the water pipes had frozen and broken. She called a plumber.

If you've had your own home and/or taken care of someone elses, it is easier to get into.

I just reread this question, do you mean taking care of homes or people? Usually, you need some type of training to take care of people. Nurse's Aide training is a help as well as group home training.

Whatever caretaking you do, try to take courses related to it. Also try to get positions that lead up to it. Like cleaning would make me more likely to hire you to take care of my home when I was gone. Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity would also make me want to hire you, if something went wrong with my home, you would know when to fix it and when to call for help. Take care and good luck

Most of those caretaker jobs you have to have experience like nurses aide experience because you have to take care of old people or people who are young but they cannot take care of theirselves, like changing their clothe or feeding themselves.. Its a great job if you like to care of people and if you meant theother kind of care taker you still have to have expierence of electicity and plumbing different types of maintence in case something breaks down you will have to go and fix it it is also a good job most give you free room and board and a paycheck..

I have tried it a couple times..There have been good times and not so good..If you are a live-in you have the family that you also deal with and privacy is not always available.

I had one such job that was ok, but my other two ..were not so ok.
