What do you collect?

Do you have tons of cd's or books - or dools or magic cards? I like to "collect" people. No, I don't stuff friends and put them on display shelves. I collect ideas, viewpoints, opinions. That's why I like this site!

I have gone through many stages of collecting things from teddy bears to internet types of things, but now I am trying to rid my life of a little clutter so I am gradually getting rid of a few things, at least ideas and opinions don't take up a lot of room and you learn from them so that is good.

I have sold a few of the real collectable ones on Ebay but I have also given a lot away, sometimes when I sell a childs thing on Ebay I like to pop a little surprise freeby in as well which I always like to do.

Do your teddy bears have themes - like baseball bears, proffesor bear and the like? Have you been to build-a-bear, where you get to build your own bear and you get an adoption certificate. I went on a date - and if there are any guys reading this - this is a great idea for a date - no matter what the age! And if your date has kids - what a great way to win them over!

I collect patches. I have an old football type jacket that I bought in 1988. I was in Germany at the time. Every new city or country I visited I sewed a patch onto the jacket. I love that jacket. My favorite patch is the one of St Moritz in Switzerland. I had a blast there! The pics are in my photos.

Cameel, I agree with Malyck and will be sure to check out your photos. Its nice to meet a fellow adventurer. Although the only other countries I've been to are Canada, Cape Verde and Senegal. Oh and a stop over in France. What cities and countries have you visited and which ones were your favourites? Is there one special place you've always wanted to go and haven't been able to - and is there one place you return to again and again? I'm hoping all my travels will lead me to a place I really resonate with and will call home. So far New Mexico is the closest and the place my husband and I have considered putting down roots but there are many countries and cities we have yet to see. He contracts to the armed forces so there are many places we could go and stay for a year - I'd like to stay somewhere in asia or maybe New Zealand...don't think there's a base in New Zealand though.

I have been to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Lichtenstein, France, Denmark and Portugal. My favorite was the Swiss Alps by far. I visited this restaurant that you had t ride a cable car to get up to. Kind of like you would for a ski slope ride up but this was an enclosed car. When you get to the top over 10,000 meters up, there is the most amazing view all around you! I actually have a picture of me standing outside this restaurant in shorts. The snow all around but the weather warm enough to wear shorts, that just tickled me. Bavaria in Germany is undoubedly breathtaking county. I bought my mom a hand made cukoo clock from the Black Forest, ooooh and black forest cake...to die for!! I could go on and on. I am verythankful for all the places I visited! I want to someday go to Italy and Greece! Have a great day!

Patches and buttons are so awesome! Especially ones with sentimental meaning and happy memories like yours from your trips, what a great memento!

Hello artemis!(",) When, I was still in elementary I like collecting stationaries and stamps. I also have a collection of paper dolls. Now, I would like to start a jewelry and accessories collection. My book collection is also growing. These books include those written by Paolo Coelho, V.C. Andrews, Joshua Harris. I also would like to collect books written by Mitch Albom. God bless!(",)

I also love "collecting" different points of view, religious concepts, opinions on life, etc. I'm hooked on myLot specifically that reason. Such a wide variety of perspectives. I read a whole lot more on here than I post. But I do like to post also.

When I was a kid i collected spoons. As a teen I started collecting pez dispensers. When I was about 20 I started collecting shot glasses. I still collect shot glasses and pez dispensers. Although a lot of my pez collection has found its way into my son's toybox. What can I say, when he brings me one that I absolutely love that's still in the package and says "pwease?" I just can't resist.

Sounds like you have the collecting bug - have you given it to your son? Maybe he'll start with Pez and end with motorcycles or something. :)

I still have my collection of spoons hanging up. But I hate looking at them because they always need to be cleaned!

It's a good thing you cleard how you collect people or else we'd think that we might call the police to visit your house; joke. I like to collect pens. I do love pens, from the cheapest to the most expensive I can afford. I can not go out with out a pen and a paper in my pocket too, because I like to write ideas that pops in my brain anytime. I have lots of them in a day.

Nice - I love finding pens that write smoothly and I admit I sometimes buy pens that look cool too! I only like notebooks that are large - small ones cramp my hand....Cacti would be an interesting collections. I could just drive out to the desert about an hour away...

That's a great description of how you collect people! With me it's a toss up between DVD movies, CDs, but my real main thing has always been books....I have so many books I could actually start my own library, and I'm not talking just fictional books, as lately if there is some fiction book I want to read I just go to the library. But I love to get inspirational goal-setting and self-improvement books, do get children's books, like Harry Potter...but I also love collecting non-fiction books, like history, astronomy, anthropology...I still have many of my textbooks from college days believe it or not. Now to find the time to read them all...LOL

You must have the odd shrunken head around?? LOL...I like to collect books (I have over 300) and magazines (I have four piles of them around the house) I would die without any reading materials around! That scares me!

Me too - terrifying thought! I would have that many books if I didn't travel so much before and just give my books away when I moved. And if I didn't lend out books and never see them again - my brother is infamous for that!
