Need advice on a 15 year old dating a 21 year old

The one reason that her mom has allowed this is because she knew that her daughter would sneak around to see him. I understand that, but as a mom myself, I think I would rather say no than to let it happen. I have been told that they relize that if they have intercourse that he will go to jail. I planned on bringing that up to remind her and let her know how serious this is. BI just hope it will help. Thanks

Thats the same thing I asked. WHY? Only one reason to me, and it scares me. She met him through friends is all I have gotten out of her so far. He does have his own car, and access to alcohol. I have been told that he doesnt let her around the drinking, but I personally dont believe it. I am older than her and hope that I can talk to her calmly about this. The whole thing just upsets me. I actually checked into this being against the law. I am in NC and was told by a DA that because the mom is allowing the relationship to happen nothing can be done unless they are sleeping together. Then charges can be made. I am glad to see that your daughter wasnt mad at you for making her stop the relationship. I hope that mine works out the same way. Thanks

I totally agree with wend1206. I would have done the same thing regardless of what my daughter had to say, this is whats wrong with the children today the parents dont give a dang what there kids are doing or with whom.

Thanks for the comment. I am still quite upset over the whole thing and I have known about it for a few days. This has been happening all summer though. I am going to talk to her this week and figure out what is going on. I too was a teenage mom and its hard. I love my kids, but it is hard when you are still a kid too. I have told her before that if I found out she was sleeping with anyone that I was going to put my 3 kids on a "sugar rush" with very little sleep and let her take care of them for a few hours. If she can deal with them then, then she would be ready. But if not she better not think about it. I am still upset at the mother for letting it happen and cant figure out how to tell her this. I just looked at her in shock, I couldnt say anything at all. And that doesnt happen very often for me. I would probably follow them myself if I didnt have 3 of my own to worry about and take care of. But you never know. It may come down to that. I am very close to them and dont want anything bad to happen. Thanks again.

Thank you for sharing your story. I agree that how you are brought up has something to do with it. I missed a few critical years in her life, but have tried to be there for them the last few years. So saying that I am honestly not sure about that area, but have always told her that the best thing she can do is wait until she is older and more mature. I just dont want her getting hurt. Thats what bothers me so much. Thanks again for sharing your story.

Thank you for your post. The mom has tried to talk to her daughter about this and she won't talk to her. I think thats why she asked me to. The daughter has opened up to me before and I am hoping and praying that I say the right things to get her to open up to me. Everytime the mom tries to talk to her daughter about this she gets mad and yells at her mom. So I am going to do what I can to help the situation. I am so glad to hear that you and your daughter have such an open relationship. You dont hear that much anymore. Thanks again.

Thank you for your advice. I am going to talk to her this week and hopefully figure out what is going on. I do not want her making a big mistake and having to live the rest of her life with it. I hope that if anything she knows that we are all here for her and will do anything we can to help her out.
