Here is one of my favorite jewels. The bracelet was made by a friend of mine who owns a silver factory.I polished the boulder opals and designed it. It was set in sterling silver and 14K gold, 3 boulder opals, 2 quite big rubies and 1 big swiss topaz and several small peridots. It's a very big bracelet and I do not wear it often, but the few times that i did wear it people kept staring at it, so I guess it makes a statement;) Share your thoughts please

I guess people would stare! That is one stunning bracelet! I like siver better than gold, really. I think the cool tone sets off most stones better. That is a bigger bracelet that what I would wear myself, but it sure is beautiful!

Hiya Susieq, and thanks for your reply :)
With big gems you cannot make a small bracelet, so the statement was - bigger is there! LOL, What can I tell you, for every day use I rarely put on bracelets, and the 3 that I have are big ;)

That is a very nice bracelet. You must make a ton of money to be able to afford some thing like that. Even if your friend gave you a discount, I'm sure it was very expensive. Most of the people I know could never afford any thing like that. And with the state of our economy because of the war that we are in and people loosing jobs, I'll even go as far at to say that most people in the U.S. wouldn't be able to afford some thing like that. I sell online and I have hand crafted beaded bracelets that took me between 22 to 25 hours to make and I'm trying to sell them for 40.00. I've had them up for sale for over 6 months and I've had alot of lookers, but no buyers as of yet. see www.blujay.com/dltart

Hi AncientWisdom, and thank you for replying ;)
And no, I am not making a lot of money, as I actually lost a lot with the investment that I made for my hobby - opals and polishing these, and the jewelry making. Somehow I believed that when you do something you love - money will flow to you - but it is not necessarily true...
As for the friend who made the bracelet - the work and sterling and 14K gold came on $280, which is about 50% of what he actually would ask a normal customer. All of the gems were mine so I didn't pay for this, but the price of the bracelet will be around $650 to just cover my costs. In any case is not for sale.
I was able to sell some high priced jewels, but not enough, and decided to stop an year ago. The jewelry that I had made for myself was never meant to be sold, and some of the remaining is on here: www.thefortunesd.marktplaza.nl and I have patience, and am sure that sooner or later all will be sold.
Thanks again ;)

First of all I love that bracelet, and I love Silver Jewelry in particular, and maybe that's the part Native American in me--I suppose you wear that bracelet at special occasions no?...I have one very large bracelet myself--it's silver and turquoise and I literally got it at a steal...heehe There used to be a boutique store near me--and one day I popped in to browse around and there was this bracelet...I think someone may have sold it to the shop owner as they might have needed the money...So when I asked how much, I nearly died, and said I'll take it..Now you have to understand this was a Native American designed bracelet and an antique as they don't make that style anymore, and the turquoise stone is enormous--I knew inwardly that, that bracelet must have been worth a few hundred dollars, but know how much I paid...only $45.00!! It's now over thirty years old since that is when I got it, and I wear it everyday

Nice deal you got there tha Pyewacket ;) and it's always so nice to appreciaste the jewels you have and wear without placing the price tag of these in your mind. Indeed, the bracelet you've gotten for the small amount might mean the heaven and earth for whom it was made to begin with, or to you for that matter. When i designed this one I knew I will wear it only on certain occasions, with the appropriate clothes on, and that it would look weird if I were to wear it with every day's clothes. It didn't stop me to have it made however, and every time that I wear it I feel like a divine creature from outherspace, if you get what i mean ;)
