Is the construction of a statue of Nelson Mandella an insult to the black race?

Nelson Mandella,the former president and anti apathied fighter was honored in London with the construction of a statue of him by the British Government who during the aparthied years called him a terrorist.Nelson Mandella accepted the offer from those people who supported the apathied regime in South Africa.Is this not an insult to the entire black race?

Well, past is past. We could not do anything anymore with what has happened before but we could do well with mending the ties with the present generation. I don't think it's an insult. It would only be an insult if there were people in the 'past' there and they were just showing the event for 'show' and don't mean nothing at all.
In order to embrace our future, we must learn to let go of our past without letting go of the values we are taught.
